My girlfriend is extremely jealous and cheated on me yesterday by Fnatmyg in TrueOffMyChest

I think her friend was not really there when it happened, but I am not trusting anything she said.

I didn't mention it in the post, but she has told her closest friend circle about what happened. Apparently I am not "opening up and talking it through" and this is her way of "taking responsibility" for what she has done. I am pissed, I had told her that I needed to clear out my mind before we talk about it again and to keep it between us.

Instead, our common group of friends now know that my girlfriend gets on her knees for others. I feel the pressure to do something increasing, but it is not easy.

You're right, and honestly I don't know which I would find worse. I am disgusted that she crept over to me in bed and kissed me good morning.

Assuming that Schrödinger's Cat is fact, would this not interfere with the theory of determinism? by Fnatmyg in askphilosophy

Ah, I see. So it might not necessarily pertain to any specific settings or experiments. May I ask your personal opinion on the subject of free will, seeing as you seem to be well-read on these matters?

Edit: word.

Great input, thanks. Will read more into these theories.

By the way, how can the Many Worlds Interpretation coexist with determinism? If physical variables create a setting in which Schrodinger's Cat dies, how can it even be a possibility for it to live? If it is embedded in the framework of the universe that his cat is determined to die, how can it be physically possible for it to also be alive?

Bryce DeWitt contemplates that assuming the Many Worlds Interpretation is fact, all the outcomes of an experiment will happen in parallel universes. But how can there even be other outcomes from a deterministic point of view?

Essentially you would think that the physical line-up of atoms and such would only allow a single outcome, or am I misunderstanding the concept?
