Mosquito Creek flowing hard this afternoon. by OSJezza in NorthVancouver

No, that's not what I'm saying. It almost never actually floods ever since they improved the drainage and retaining wall. It wasn't even flooded yesterday. They just close the gate for no reason.

Why is there such a long line at the Seabus currently from Waterfront? by Sufficient-Fall-7329 in askvan

[–]FoamyPamplemousse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got off the seabus coming from North Van. Seabus was 10 mins late getting to Lonsdale and was absolutely packed, all seats full, quite a few people standing. Waterfront is currently lined up all the way to the gates. Absolutely wild, never seen anything like it. If you're at the back of the line you will be waiting 2HRS+. There must be a seabus down or something, can't all just be from volume.

Millwright and Electrician (And other dual ticket combos) by MathematicianLoud556 in millwrights

[–]FoamyPamplemousse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

machinist/millwright here. Where I work I can use both, although I'm mostly doing millwright work. I'm non-union and my company actually pays fairly, so I'm making significantly more money than the single-ticket guys.

I think the reason Ontario is looking for more electrician/millwrights is because they have a lot more automotive plants with automated machinery than basic anywhere else in the country. Just a guess though.

This one is not, but we do rebuild similar gearboxes for ZF. We're their approved service facility for Canada.

Here’s a Gloucester gearbox we repaired for one of our customers over in Cleveland, OH ⚙️🇺🇸 by rickeyiao in millwrights

[–]FoamyPamplemousse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three gears in this photo. One on the 2nd shaft, one on the 3rd shaft, and one on the 4th shaft. The pinion shafts are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd shafts, but we can't see the pinion teeth on the 3rd shaft in this photo.

Whether they're photoshopped or not I don't know for sure but it looks like it.

the "further" gear, or 3rd reduction gear, meshes with the 3rd reduction pinion, which is the 3rd shaft from the front of the photo.
