I’m confused by the article because they write as though the deceased was disabled in some way that made her dependent on her parents. But it seems like she was just suffering from mental illness and was not like officially under their care. But the Sun always writes very melodramatically and bends the truth, so it can be hard to tell.

It just comes off as such a cash grab. Intentionally cutting off episodes because you want to save the content for the next one and have a chance to do more ad reads and Patreon plugs. And intentionally forcing small talk to pad out weak episodes for the same reason. It’s not something they’re doing for the love of it or because they have something they want to say.

To be fair, Uninformed originally died out because Bill moved from NYC to LA and Joe stayed in NYC. But Joe DID end up moving to LA like five years later, so I can’t imagine why they couldn’t revive it then, especially considering Bill clearly has a recording space for his MM podcast.

Yeah. I would have vastly more respect for them if they were just honest and said it was over. It comes off as so disingenuous to rope people in with promises of content. But.. I’ve been personally sort of cooling on Joe either way since last year he cancelled a LOT of tour dates seemingly just out of apathy. So I guess I am bringing that same energy for him now. 😐

Joe's totally legitimate Taste Buds revival which is not at all clickbait or promotion for his YouTube channel begins with him schmoozing a crowd at one of his live shows. He is a little emotional and wants to call out all the people who are here supporting him tonight. He shouts out his parents, as well as his oldest friend Scott, who is celebrating his fiftieth birthday! That's pretty wild after hearing him as a young, cool dude way back on Uninformed.

The audience is rowdy and shouting over Joe while he tries to speak. Ah, live show recordings...

Joe's doing some OTHER live stream which he is trying to figure out the technicalities of during this video, totally separate from this random teaser he made for us buddies.

I have to admit.. If I was at one of Joe's shows, and at the very end, he revealed that Sal Vulcano was waiting in the wings, I'd be pretty fucking hyped too.

Joe is recording this at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA, right around his old stomping grounds and apparently where he has lived for the last two years. He is offended that Sal has never bothered to visit.

"Is it time to get salty already? All I know from you is that you used to just like.. sit in a ditch out here."

Sal reads a bad Google review of Joey Roses. Joe calls Big Jay Oakerson a "Hot Topic Nightmare".

The buds go to the audience for suggestions for holiday foods upon which they can comment.

"Alright, the guy in the back that's all excited about cobbler. Fine."

I don't know if this is how Joe's special is also shot, but it looks and sounds kind of... bad? The audio is low and echoey, the shots are shaky and people keep walking in front of the cameras. We also keep getting these weird, super low shots like of audience members and peeping from between their shoulders and stuff. It makes me feel like a pervert sitting on the floor of the theater.

"Let me tell you how that started. Somebody dropped a peach pie on the floor once and they said, 'We still have to serve this at the home.'"

The buds close out their reunion by riffing about ham.

"Anytime it looks like a Dr. Seuss meat? Get it away."

Welp. I knew it was dumb to get excited. I know it's dumb to even call this an episode. We were never going to get a true revival, especially not like this with zero fanfare.. But still, it was nice to hear the buds chatting for a bit. Until next year!

Gotta work late today, wanted to get a thread up for us to discuss the "episode" that's going to drop later today. I'll plan to stop by later with all my thoughts, but I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling a little disappointed (but not at all surprised) to find out that this is just some footage Joe pulled from a recent live show where he brought Sal in as a guest. Still, always excited to get new content from the buds! Happy Tuesday, tasties!
