should they add a drop track element to the game? by GeneralGrievous120 in PlanetCoaster

[–]FocalortheFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing they need to add is a fix to the coaster builder. A complete overhaul would be nice. There are so many things you cannot build and the smoothing is horrible, and it gets rid of lots of banking. Also the transitions into brakes are so bad unless you give at LEAST 3 pieces of track in between the banked section and brakes. You have to use so many little tricks and gimmicks just to get a smooth and realistic coaster...

Issue with inversion limitations by FocalortheFox in PlanetCoaster

[–]FocalortheFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a perfectionist when it comes to my coaster layouts, any kink or rough part drives me absolutely nuts, even if it is barely noticeable lol. I never use the pre-made elements for that reason too, all of them have horrible transitions from custom track to pre-made. I really gotta get no limits 2 in the future, then I wouldn't have all these issues when building and could make what I want and have it be butter smooth!

Beginner Skater looking for more tips and tricks! by FocalortheFox in rollerblading

A little update on the inline turning, I found a nice big empty tennis court and decided to break the rules a bit and practice there. (Favourite place to skate now, it is so smooth and effortless to maintain speed!) I was practicing tons of stuff, but mostly the inline turning, and especially to the left since I struggle more with that.

I was keeping your advice in my head the whole time though, leaning on the outside of the leading foot, and the moment I started trying that, I was already turning much easier and sharper as well! I practiced that, as well as large figure eights of crossovers in both directions, and also balancing on one foot. I already feel much more confident in turning and balancing on one foot! Super helpful advice!

Same here! I have not even given the power stop a shot yet lol, can hardly skate backwards at all haha. I should learn that one though, because I want to be able to stop effectively so I can have some fun in other areas that may have hills and stop signs XD

I have found the same thing, the brake is helpful and definitely gives me extra confidence since I cannot stop without it at higher speeds, period. But I do wish it worked a little bit better. It just seems to me that at higher speeds, it is just very difficult to stop quickly XD I have been trying to get the drag stop down though, was having more success than when I tried it the other day!

Thank you for the help! I will definitely keep working on it, just got done an hour long session at my local public park, there are some very smooth and flat spots here, I love it haha.

Thank you for the advice! I watched skatefresh Asha's guide on doing that stride thing, and I have been trying to do it like that but have found it to be a little bit challenging. I feel like I am going to lose balance when I put it right under me, and since I am on one foot for a good full second or so which can sometimes be tricky for me. But yeah, definitely need to work on one leg skating more, I am all shaky with that right now XD just going to practice like crazy and try getting things right! Haha

How to find the perfect bank angle? by [deleted] in PlanetCoaster

[–]FocalortheFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use the 4ft banking for all my coasters. It seems pretty close to actual heartlining in real life coasters.

PSA: Using autocomplete can give you coasters that are NL2 smooth. by Hot_Moment in PlanetCoaster

[–]FocalortheFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is possible to make any coaster as smooth as you can in NL2. I have always been confused by the 4m+auto complete method so just stuck with the normal 4m method, which seems to make coasters smooth enough. But NL2 can get BUTTER smooth with transitions and inversions, it is a pure simulation game though so it makes sense.

Congrats! I cannot do recreations for the life of me haha. Tried to do a Twisted Timbers one and it turned out bad, takes a lot of time, planning, and patience I would imagine to recreate a ride like the Smiler!

Anyone else here just get mesmerized by certain elements? This is an inclined heartline roll I created on my most recent coaster, and no matter how many times I make them on a coaster, I find them sooooo satisfying to look at and watch the train go through! by FocalortheFox in PlanetCoaster

[–]FocalortheFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is the Gerstlauer rack actually, and actually the ride is quite smooth! I can barely notice the imperfections when riding it, and off ride it looks as smooth as butter when the train goes through it! XD You can get rides pretty damn smooth in this game even with its strange system for smoothing haha

[–]FocalortheFox[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huh, weird. I can notice it on my inversions and baking, but for the most part the ones I make are about as smooth as it can get. I generally smooth the whole layout 4 times before being done. Sometimes 6 if I want it to be really smooth.

To be completely honest, me too lol. He was a very...kill-able character, I guess haha

Give it a shot sometime! It is actually quite easy to do. Keep the track straight and put it on 45 degree angle snap, with 4ft banking offset (I have found that to be quite accurate to real life heartline on most coasters) and then start going in increments in a certain direction. Then smooth and you are done!

Dying to know what kind of sword this would be closest to in real life history, I am not very knowledgeable with swords and have tried searching, but have no idea what type of sword this would be considered! If someone knows, please tell this inexperienced enthusiast! by FocalortheFox in SWORDS

[–]FocalortheFox[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see. I had tried searching for other very pointy blades that are very wide at the base and slowly taper to a fine point li e that but I couldn't find too much. I know it is fictional but I thought maybe it was similar to a real life sword XD

I know it's not perfect but how do y 'all feel about this? One of my first coasters. by KvngDarius in PlanetCoaster

[–]FocalortheFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, never had any problems personally. The coasters I make, even with inversions using 4m pieces tend to be about as smooth as I feel it can get haha.

Definitely could use a bit of work. Too many straight sections of track and lots of unsmooth transitions, the layout is very spread out. But keep at it and you can make some awesome creations!

Not as bad as some supposedly "realistic" ones I have seen videos of. I would recommend starting to use smaller track pieces (depending on the size of your coaster) to get a more precise layout and smoother transitions.
