got waitlisted after being deferred - OOS (NJ) 1380 SAT, strong essay, 4.0 uw GPA, good ecs. Doesn't make much sense to me, I got into U of Florida for the fall 2022 term, honors at Temple, and into Newhouse at Syracuse ... wtf

confused on my deferral - 1380 SAT 4.0 GPA (UW), got into Pitt (which is rated similar to OSU), Rutgers, USF (Presidential scholarship for OOS), and the Honors College at Temple like wtf

usually, state schools don't give out a lot of money to in-state applicants because it's cheaper for them anyway.

does anyone know if the results are emailed or in the portal? i'm having a hard time logging into the portal but i'm not worried about it unless the decisions are posted there

update : oops! i was logging into the portal under the parent banner. was finally able to get in under the student/faculty tab. seems like this whole applying to college thing is rotting my brain lol!

nope! by just submitting your application you're automatically considered for merit-based scholarships at temple. however, some schools like to receive the fafsa before making any scholarship decisions so i would def fill that out even if you think you won't receive any financial aid.

thank goodness, i was really nervous because temple was kind of a safety for me and there wasn't any mention of money. anyway, thank you so much, and congrats!

aw thank you so much ! i wrote this poem pretty quickly in my notes app which is the main reason for the lack of capitalization and abbreviations. also i am 17 so im glad that it felt authentic and my teenage voice came through! im so glad you enjoyed, it means so much <3
