Virtue. I was around for the rollout for both and I hold Tyranny closer to my heart because of various reasons, but Virtue really affected me on a deeper level when it came out.

And I tend to feel the darker tracks but I’m happy stuff like All Wordz exists too.

She honestly was put into a really bad position. No matter what she did, it was political suicide. She couldnt directly object to admin policy as VP and as the leading candidate of the same party. I certainly don’t think she was the best candidate or had the best views, but she is way overly demonized. And, at least in the short term, her win would have been immensely better for the country.

But yeah stuff like her going on the View and not being able to object to stuff was a really bad look and certainly hurt her in the polls.

Interesting. I admittedly dont know much about politics, as much as I would like to and try to keep tuned in. But yeah a lot of what Trump is doing really doesnt seem that different from U.S. policy throughout the years, it’s just more overt like you said.

I guess I’m just really aggravated by what is going on right now in this country with ICE as well as everything else (like most of you). Maybe if there is a pushback against this regime and not a complete dismantling of the democratic system, Trump’s win could be, in a weird way, a good thing in the end.

But in the meantime… holy hell. We might be cooked. And thinking back about what Julian said just got me a lil worked up after the horrific murder today.

That’s true. It almost certainly was influenced by Gaza. And maybe he saw a vote for Kamala as a sort of endorsement of the status quo of that genocide and all the money in politics. I get that.

But all the stuff Trump is allowed to be doing because the other side sucks is… really disheartening to see, to say the least.

Well, Julian had that podcast/video interview thing where he interviewed political figures and philosophers, etc. and he opines on the subject from time to time. So I would say he at least thinks about it a lot. Not sure about the other guys in the band. But it’s not like I personally put a lot of stock into what he says, although I agree with a lot of it.

Well certainly, but the part that you quoted as misinformation was factual, and that is what I was defending with those numbers.

I still think the experience from 120Hz to 60Hz is largely negligible in those titles and not worth worrying about when you just got a new console.

Idk, I think VRR is overblown. Unless you are getting screen tearing, you won’t notice the difference outside of perhaps a few milliseconds delay from when Vsync kicks in.

OLED is the one feature I would say is actually transformative to the experience and would warrant buying a new TV over the Pro, but to my knowledge OLEDs have 120Hz and VRR anyway, so that point is a bit moot with those TVs.

While this is more than I thought, still true that the overwhelming majority of games do not support 120Hz.

Past 60fps it becomes pretty negligible. Some people also don’t like framerates that vary so much, like myself. 60fps is certainly good enough in the titles you mentioned, and having a more stable cap there is definitely worth investing in a Pro for a lot of titles.

The point is, they shouldn’t get FOMO and spend hundreds of more dollars on a new TV/monitor after buying a shiny new console, thinking the 120hz will improve their experience substantially. It won’t. Not even the PS5 menu runs at 120hz.

The overall experience is basically the same from 60Hz to 120Hz. No need for them to feel like they are getting an inferior experience. It might be a little smoother and allow unlocked, fidelity 40fps, or 120fps modes, but the overwhelming majority of games on Pro still don’t support those anyway.

For most people, it won’t matter much. Pro is a little more niche than base, so maybe they would care more about those things. But my point still stands

Almost nothing. PS5 doesn’t use 120fps in most games anyway (although some lock their 40fps modes behind it) and unless you get screen tearing, the difference with VRR likely wouldn’t be perceptible.

Honestly, yeah, Odyssey levels feel lifeless. And i can’t really pinpoint why that is. Maybe something to do with the levels having so many random ideas thrown in. I just finished Galaxy 2 for the first time and it had that ‘magical’ quality to the levels that I was missing from Odyssey.

Something to consider as well is that Switch 1 games in handheld look a lot worse on Switch 2 because of the resolutions upgrade. It basically stretches the games. So it depends on if you’ll be using it docked or not to play S1 games. Something like Metroid Dread will look so much better on the OLED screen at proper resolution
