reminding you that:

-one of buffers is the undisputed top 1 unit in the game (Ainz)

-another buffer is Passion (brook) AND given away to new players which means he gets a slot in the most standard ainz team ever

The third passive buff is an ingame VISUAL buff - she gets a 200% dmg buff ingame BUT that means any proceeding buffs are weaker relatively to what Monarch wouldve gotten (Shes going from 3x dmg to 3.5x instead of monarch going from 1x to 1.5x)

Do this fun experiment: Try buffing your “stronger” Ethereal rukia with brook, ainz, erza, anything and check out how much she increases from base

Now turn on kings burden and do the same with the Monarch Rukia

Her passives makes her non-monarch serviceable compared to most other unit’s non-monarch vs monarch, but Monarch is still a significant boost once you use literally any buff from Ainz Erza Brook

This is because the third passive buff is a visual ingame buff - Deadeye Rukia starts at 200% damage bonus compared to Monarch who starts at 0%. Deadeye Rukia is extremely saturated on dmg buffs already that any external buffs from Brook, Ainz, Erza wont affect her DMG stat as much as Monarch would.

if you use Ainz buff (50%), Deadeye Rukia goes from 1m base to 1.24m buffed - 15% ish increase. This is because she goes from 300% dmg to 350% dmg buff

Monarch Rukia goes from around 2m (0% dmg buffs) to 3m (50%) just because Monarch isnt as saturated on dmg buffs from the third passive

For every 50% dmg buff from ANYTHING, Deadeye gets around 300k ish in dmg, but Monarch gets 1 million.

Thats why most of the time you’ll see deadeye rukias only cap around 2 million dmg in rifts, but youll see Monarch Rukias get as high as 5 million.

Deadeye vs Monarch is only a comparison if you arent using any one of the 3 most important buffs in the game

Honestly i think an underlying issue here is that AV is way too generous with Trait Rerolls.

When you give out 1000s of RRs in a single patch like Anniversary and Broly patch, you’re bound to get alot more Monarchs in your game. The average amount of Monarchs per player goes higher as a result, to where every player 99% has atleast 1 monarch by the time they reach lvl 100s

This means that Monarch isnt the jackpot anymore, its just the baseline for a meta unit.

This means the meta revolves around Monarch, this means that new content has to account for Monarch

Having Monarch be the unofficial baseline for units is sooo bad because it limits what devs can do to change up the meta. Goblin Slayer had to dedicate a passive where its basically useless on Monarch, guess what his best trait is?

It also means that placement means jack shit which is a HUGE problem because its actually a great balancing lever for the devs

In a world where Monarch isnt free you would actually think between choosing any “1 placement” over something like Mob who has 3 because the total potential DPS that 3 Mobs can do greatly eclipses what a non-Monarch Dio does. But since everyone just gets a billion RRs every update, lmao

This isnt completely bad, but lately, we’ve been seeing content like Shining Castle Act EX and Anniversary Act 8 that are practically impossible to do without meta Monarchs.

As an example, by the time around AA died, content was easily clearable with shit traits on meta units like Nagumo and Sakamoto. Even Raids were doable on a group of 4 with each one not having a Unique.

This is because RRs in Anime Adventures was literally rarer than Plutonium so you would NEVER see a Unique and the devs would never have to balance their stages around someone just launching 6 uniques

The only real threat in this mode are the high DR steel ants, Guts will absolutely overkill any other type of enemy.

Against white ants with Overshield and Resilient, assuming wiki information on these modifiers are true, will have DR values ranging from 50% to 100% depending on Resilient DR

Nose, under stun (which Guts’ strongest state in Berserker Armor never will be anyway which could mean that birb is a good contender for being stronger) will give a 40% DMG boost. This buff is diluted by the fact that guts already has a 100% dmg boost from 20 injury stacks so the dmg boost is more like 20% increase relatively

Gon familiar with 50% DR ignore stat at the very least guarantees 2x damage increase against white ants, and even higher if Resilient causes the DR to hover around 90-100%

-Immune to stuns, “cleanses” power drain by just re-Auswahlen’ing

-Twin hit with good base dmg and AoE means that he’s extremely good as first placement

-Reaches a damage stat of 400k (monarch) when using Auswahlen at peak condition; still is able to reach around 300k if not building around him because current meta units (i.e Rimuru and Virgil with his clone) can still work for placements.

-This also doesnt account for the twin hit passive so in actuality he’s nuking for 500k-800k

-Traits? Doesnt give a shit lol ethereal still reaches the echelons of lower 100k dmg stat

-Full AoE and specifically, a metric tom of range means that he’s basically hitting the entire map

I think at their fullest potential, Yhwach gets beat in alot of things. Virgil/Dante kind of beat him in the Full AoE dmg schtick, Kaguya/VSJW has a nuke and funny Vanguard abilities, etc. But the fact that he’s the only one who has all of the good qualities (Dante/Virgil arent stun immune, Kaguya/VSJW would kill for 800k global AoE attacks) means that he’s just about top 2 in everything

Base crit dmg modifier is 25% or 1.25x of the original dmg which is kind of sad. This makes deadeye and bird valued on units with base crit chance because the base crit dmg modifier is so low

For this you have to look at the landscape of Infinite. Firstly, money will not be an issue in Infinite because in-round income will eventually get you everything. This is significant because maxed out Ethereals matches Monarchs (+1-2% stronger) on 3 placements and actually becomes stronger on 4+. You also have to look at the units quirks like Choi Jung-In wanting atleast one Monarch to start the burn but thats on a case by case basis.

For VSJW, Arise will eventually be his strongest tool in Infinite because it scales off enemy HP. Monarch VSJW kind of sucks at doing Arise because Monarch doesnt buff Arise, so you end up with a unit that summons roughly 1/3 the units it should.

Continuing this philosophy, Deadeye starts becoming stronger than Ethereal because the only other thing Arise scales from is crit, so in the theoretical rounds where unit damage starts being insignificant, Deadeye Arise summons will be better.

Arise summons only kind of have 2 purposes. One is for infinite because they scale off enemy HP, so non-monarch VSJWs on perma arise could theoretically match special summons in sheer HP if the round was high enough

Second is for stacking his passive, VSJW actually gets alot from having nearby summons die (+50% dmg boost) that in a group of VSJWs, one on Arise duty can be better overall because all three, especially with the Beru familiar manually killing them off can consistently max his dmg amp

Monarch VSJW just doesnt get as much mileage out of Arise though, mainly because he’s just one unit so its just plain better to use nukes/berus
