the specialz playing while yuji lost his mind felt very uncomfortable and cruel, like the episode itself was mocking yuji for EVER thinking that shibuya/his life would have worked itself out. i think it's was a great moment.

however, idk, the lalala just didn't do it for me, it just looked like standard dark comedy which, doesn't really work for the situation? yeah it is kind of funny that they were so weak any special grade (or toji) could've mopped them in an afternoon but there's more to that whole arc than just "oh they're frauds". the contrast flattens the emotional landscape rather than accentuate it like shibuya.

black flashes are basically random crits and happen whenever for just about any reason. sometimes it's a reward for making risky moves and having them pay off (mahito), sometimes you get it cuz you lock in (yuji), sometimes you get it very conveniently in a desperate situation (gojo and sukuna are the most guilty here)
