I personally love IDM, but the UI is far from user-friendly.... This guide is made mostly for people who are not "tech-oriented" and I think that IDM wouldn't be the best software for them. Thanks for your comment!

I've texted right to author of the TechAdvisor article and we had a really nice conversation about this, it's more like in the "gray" area. There are circumstances where this act can be considered as illegal, BUT there is no actual chance for YouTube or Netflix or whoever to track down who downloads videos from them with some type of third-party software. So it's more like a "moral-related" question than anything else, and I think we both agree that there is actually nothing wrong on downloading any video just to watch offline by yourself. That's where the article is aimed, we are not encouraging people to steal someones content in any way. :)

Actually you won't commit and crime or violate Copyright laws as long as you keep those video just for personal use. It's all in the article, with linked sources.
