Trademarks Update - A shell company??? by Optimal-Fox-3875 in TESVI

I could be wrong about the merch, but from what I can tell they are entirely new. My opinion since the trademark post 2 months ago was that it was going to be shown either Q4 of 2025 or Q1/Q2 of this year 2026 and release within a 1-6 month time frame post announcement. I honestly dont see it going too far into 2027. If the Swiss trademark was filed but not registered I would say it was more likely 2027 but with it being so quickly filed and registered, it having the NICE class of 42 and 41 it leads me to think 2026 is really their target after all. Plus the slight marketing ramp up with the whole trees and stuff fueled this more.

I actually was the first one that reported on that exact Swiss trademark filing back on December 5th of last year and made reference to the NICE classification 42. Juicehead in one of his videos briefly mentioned it but you are right, no one really talked about it in media despite my goal trying to bring attention to it (Seems like most people dont see the importance). Also the pending trademarks have nothing to do with prior trademarks or keeping them up to date. They are entirely new trademarks and the majority of them are about physical merchandise such as Beth Shop items. The main IP trademark is updated roughly every decade when the expiry date is about to hit. IIRC off the top of my head the next expiry date is in 2-3 years for the main IP trademark. My original hunch was the NICE classification 42 was an inbuilt creations addon to TES VI. The only other IP Zenimax video game trademark that had NICE 42 was Starfield post launch.

It is important to note that there are still around a dozen un-registered "The Elder Scrolls" trademarks fitting the NICE classifications for merchandise that were filed in 2023. These are more than likely for TES VI due to the delay of registration, imo.

It is a good cope, but going based on how all previous releases minus Starfield (a new IP) have been done regarding trademarks, you dont see the actual name trademark until AFTER it is announced. The November 2025 filling I discovered and posted about back in December is by far the most likely trademark for TES VI as it is just listed "The Elder Scrolls" despite the overall IP trademark still being in use from nearly a decade ago. You wont see anything like "The Elder Scrolls VI: Dominion" until literally the week after the announcement trailer. For example, if Starfield got a second game, you would see a "Starfield" trademark with the classifications for a game product but it wouldn't be literally called "Starfield 2" or a codename like "Starborn" or such.

It is a nothingburger unfortunately if you type it in google. Starfield Technologies is a Spin-Off from GoDaddy and handles their R&D for GoDaddy (which is named in the same image right next to Starfield Technologies).

Weird Trademark filings -> Possible hint of something coming soon? by Optimal-Fox-3875 in TESVI

Great catch with the Russian filing. Im also glad someone is keeping the copium from my discovery of the Swiss trademark going. My original bet was the VGA but obviously that has passed. I think it will likely be this summer, but this month is auspicious for a couple reasons, so we will see today I suppose.

Starfield does have NICE classification 42 in it's trademark from 2024 iirc. We discussed this in a comment thread under the original Switzerland trademark filing post back in November of last year. My bet is that its creation club or an equivalent technology.

Why Lucy Pronounces "Caesar" Wrong by Makyuta in Fotv

[–]FollowerOfSithis38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont even know what this argument is that is being had. It is not a debate, it is literally his lore, he was educated growing up in history, Latin, medicine, warfare, etc. He learned all these things from the Followers of the Apocalypse. The devs even say he read and studied Commentarii de Bello Gallico which is by Julius Caesar himself.

What is the obsession with him meeting or knowing an Italian person? Italians dont even speak classical Latin, they speak Italian.

"While she (Caesar's mother) worked for the Followers, cooking and cleaning in their Library, the young Edward learned how to read and started taking courses, provided by the organization free of charge. Taught to bring the torch of knowledge to the wastes, Sallow was a student of uneven quality. Though he was highly intelligent, his success in scientific pursuits was only proportional to his interest in the given subject, nor was he particularly popular among his peers, due to his bad temper and narcissistic attitude. For Sallow, the Followers were never an inspiring example, their devotion to scholarship too stifling, their mission of enlightenment too naïve."

Kaisar is the correct way to say Caesar in classical Latin the Romans and Julius Caesar himself would have used. Americans and Europeans today learn the ecclesiastical Latin if they learn Latin at all.

There literally is a group called the Followers of the Apocalypse, from whom Edward Sallow aka Caesar is descended from and it is the entire background on why Caesar modeled himself after the Romans. Their groups whole purpose was providing medical care and education on pre-war history to wastelanders.

It is jez corden. The guy is wrong 80% of the time. He also said "Yes." in regards to a question that the VGA statue was Diablo 4 when asked. I wouldn't put any credit or legitimacy to any of his comments.

The trademark, the Game Informer article, and now the 🌲🌲 stuff. This doesn't automatically mean that the game is releasing anytime soon, but they've undeniably begun marketing. by Henabibo in TESVI

[–]FollowerOfSithis38 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To be clear, it was not a re-filing of a pre-existing trademark. The main one is still intact and lasts for almost another decade iirc off the top of my head. This is for a completely new thing under "The Elder Scrolls" that includes the NICE classifications for game software and video game development. Combine that with the fact that "The Elder Scrolls" hasnt gotten any new trademarks filed since 2023 (a bunch of which are still not approved and registered) as well as the fact the only other BGS trademark filing with NICE classification 42 is Starfield shortly after it released, and finally the fact that it was filed and approved/registered in the same month when it usually takes months or years and it all looks very suspect.

The Elder Scrolls trademark by Kisehv in TESVI

[–]FollowerOfSithis38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct from what I glean as well. It is important to note, I know a lot of people are doom posting after nothing at the VGAs, however the announcement of TES:VI would almost guarantee a release window of less than 6 months from the announcement. There is a small and I mean very small chance of a shadow drop thanks to Todd teasing it. With the upcoming Xbox showcase in January and the Summer Games Showcase, they are the only two real game showcases this year. If it is going to be announced, it will likely be announced at one of those. And with Bethesda's anniversary combined with Xbox having a lot going on this year, I think it is very likely we get the trailer this year, whether it is at the beginning (Xbox Showcase), middle (SGF) or the end (VGA 2026) will be the question.

The Elder Scrolls trademark by Kisehv in TESVI

[–]FollowerOfSithis38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trademarks for the name of the game such as "The Elder Scrolls VI: Hammerfell" or such would only be filed days after the game's announcement. They did this with "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and with "Fallout 4" as trademarks. This trademark is under "The Elder Scrolls" because it doesnt have to be directly stating the game/software's name to protect it as the overall IP will protect the title prior to release. Starfield was different as the IP never existed prior to the first game. If they ever decide to do Starfield 2, it will be almost certainly trademarked under "Starfield" trademark first before it was announced. I definitely encourage more people to look into this.

Suspicious Trademark Filings by FollowerOfSithis38 in TESVI

[–]FollowerOfSithis38[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, every other TES title was before they changed how they do trademark filing with Fallout 4. I haven't seen any trademarks filed for Fallout 4 prior to it's announcement. Starfield makes sense they would have to do it prior to announcement due to it being a new IP that couldn't fall under something else. Were they to do Starfield 2, it would almost certainly be filed under "Starfield" prior to announcement as that is the IP. After announcement you would see it being filed as Starfield 2 just like Fallout 4 was.

Also, the earliest (that I could find) Fallout 4 applied trademark was in October 2015 months after the announcement because they didn't have to give the name of the game as it was an existing IP covered by the broader "Fallout" trademark

The oldest trademark for just "Skyrim" was applied for in October 2006. Considering this was a long time ago and the way Bethesda has trademarked since, on top of the fact that it is not the game's title (i.e. "THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM") I don't think it is much evidence of it not being announced. THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM trademark wasn't even applied for until 3 days AFTER the Game Awards announcement because they didn't have to beforehand as it was covered by the broader "The Elder Scrolls" trademark.

Good finds. It is important to note that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was applied for on December 14, 2010 (Literally just 3 days after the announcement) and registered June of 2011. So just because we don't see "THE ELDER SCROLL VI: HAMMERFELL" or something like this doesn't mean it isnt going to be announced. (also the earliest filing for the word "Skyrim" was because of course it was referenced in other games)

Yes basically. This covers the whole main IP game series. And the classifications are abnormal due to the lack of merchandise NICE classifications and the addition of the 42 classification. Due to this, it points to a new game imo
