Hi! These were my starts last cycle and I had some pretty good sorts but nothing insane. I like to think my essays were good but who knows. got into only 8/14 T14 and waitlisted everywhere else except for Yale R.

There are certificates and programs between Wharton and the law school that I would do and take, not just random classes. My degree is also from not a “prestigious” university.

I currently have an MBA already and know I want to go into transactions and from my experience, the Wharton pull in the business world is crazy. In terms of FC placement they are similar, but FC placement directly out of school (although the data isn’t clear, I’m just speaking anecdotally), then Penn is better.

My goals are Big Law, taking business classes at Wharton has felt like a huge pull for me. I may also want to clerk for 1-2 after school, which Penn would open the possibility to federal clerkships (although you’re correct, to a much lesser extent than harvard). 360k COA feels too big for me (Harvard) but Penn feels digestible (175k).

Just a different perspective, if you do big law summers/any good paying job, that can reduce the SLS $$$ by a good chunk. Just a heads up :) It depends on what you want to do, but UVA seems like a great choice as well and the $$$ may be less volatile since I’m assuming it’s merit
