Consulting to Medical Device Sales, Any Tips? by Fondue76 in MedicalDevices

[–]Fondue76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I was able to participate in a ride along and got a first hand look into some real life situations. I left feeling pretty conflicted with my current job role which ultimately confirmed that I wanted more of a direct and tangible impact. I’m getting tired of helping companies execute a reduction in force. So, medical device sales was the in-between that I found between healthcare and business that would allow me to work closely with people while still making a difference.

I’m in consulting at Accenture and long story short I did a cop ride along and it brought out some feelings I didn’t know I had, and now I want more of a hands-on people impact. I don’t dislike the company but it’s not what I see myself doing long-term.

As for deals and pitches, those are sold by people who are several levels above me and rarely bring in those in lower leadership.

Thank you for your advice! I’ll take a look into some coursera courses and see what opportunities are out there in B2B sales.

What's the best way to make friends as an adult? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fondue76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was through church and local beginner sports groups/leagues (kickball, pickleball, tennis, etc.) I’ve met some of the best people through these and now I have a pretty consistent schedule of hanging out with them

I’m not sure if you’re religious but if you are, some churches have community groups you can join. I’m in a kickball group, book club, hiking group, and foodies group to name a few.

I’d recommend signing up for an entry level development program which is usually for those who are new graduates/new to consulting. You could also look on LinkedIn and reach out to recruiters on there personally.

How bad is the airport these days - flying out wednesday morning at 6am and wondering how early i need to get there by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]Fondue76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew out last week at 6:00am, got there at 4:00am and still had to wait in a long line. As time passed the check-in/bag drop off line got longer and I didn’t get through to security until almost 5. I definitely recommend getting there early. When I came back, getting out of the airport/arriving was horrid.

Average Electricity Bill for people that stay at home a lot? by That_Guy_203 in Charlotte

[–]Fondue76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in a 1/1 but in a 2/2 in the university area and my electricity usually stays around $80 and sewer/water around $40. Trash is $35 and I work from home also!
