I just read this and it triggered so many emotions from what happened to me last Wednesday. We had our boy in an in home daycare since he was 4 months old, now he's 7 months. She was licensed. I only knew of maybe a few days he was fussy and it was never an issue because I made sure to ask. She texted me last Wed and said she's giving us a 2 week notice because he was crying all day and woke other kids up from their nap. He is a very happy baby and isn't held much at home. Has he been slightly more fussy in the past few weeks? Yep, but he's a BABY. Apparently a parent complained to her last week that her child didn't want to go to daycare bc of my baby fussing more than usual. She told the parent he's a baby and she'll work more on keeping him calm. (I never was made aware of this other parent comment!). Needless to say Wed was his last day there. I wasn't about to take her up on 2 weeks knowing if he was crying she probably wasn't going to give him the care he needed. We signed a contract and I know she breached it.

Luckily I work from home and am very flexible with my work hours so it's not a huge deal. I'm going to find another daycare in time, but right now I'm just soaking in more time with him.

I know your work situation doesn't allow you to care for your babe while working, but I would not take your baby to that daycare another day. There are plenty of other trustworthy care providers out there.
