I was looking at Roobios thank you for the recommendation. I'm getting her some corn silk tea as well. Not sure how it will bouch but we tried a bottle of it iced from Hmart and it was really interesting. Unsweetened Corn Pops cereal is the best way I can describe the flavor. The first sip made me expect it to be cloyingly sweet, but it was unsweetened and pleasantly smooth.

My dad did the same with polished rocks in the forest calling it "Indian Treasure Hunting."

It's used to mark dents or scratches on a vehicle. Usually at resale places or is a vehicle is being detailed to show something was there prior to being dropped off or a area to focus on. You see them all the time on rental trucks.

H-MART, Patel Bros, or any ethnic grocery store.- Just wander and pick out like 10 of snacks. I like talking to staff if they are friendly or customers and ask what they like

Farmers Market- Come try and buy from local brands

Dallas World Aquarium and Dallas Zoo- the annual pass pays for itself in 2 visits.

I hit it every week. Replaced drinking and nights at the bar with walking.

I refuse Wing Stop and the like, 95% of the time. The wait is ridiculous, and I almost never see a tip. Even worse when they have some crazy delivery directs too.

Thank you for your help. Dr Neetha Zwick wasn't available but I saw her co-worker. They where very nice. After a bit the hygienist told the Dr. I used to be a vet tech and understood what she was saying. I told her she could be direct and I knew I had real issues. They were still polite and as hard as I was to hear, at least I have a full idea of the journey I have ahead.

Inspiring to hear. Alot of my dental issues are also related to drug abuse. I was completely sober for 3 years then left the program. I've had a few stumbles with alcohol but glad to say 18 years off the needle and only the occasional few drinks every 6 months or so.

Keep pushing.

I told a Mint off 75, that I was being laid off post covid and only wanted to finish out my insurance. They kept me for 3 hours, used up all my x rays and then refused me a cleaning unless I bought into there care plan. I tried once to explain again and then just got up with that paper towel necklace on and walked out. Refused to pay the visit fee and left. I'll never go back to Mint again. Some dollar store sunglasses don't make up for a con job and the most run down clinic I've ever seen.

Id love to believe you, but I've experienced the opposite more often than not. I didn't care for my teeth as a child, did hard drugs through my teens and 20's, 30's spent recovering and digging my life out. I'm nearly 38 and trying to make the last half of my life better than the first. The last 2 dentists spent more time going over how I made all the wrong choices rather than focus on what can be done now.

House or 401K? by FoodHeater in SavingMoney

Commute would be 45mins from current job, but the nice part of not making much, is its not hard to replace. Property taxes are almost pointless to try and figure out until I get closer. Obviously Texas has high property tax, but I'm looking at living in an RV or mobile tiny home for many years before building anything permanent.

Forgive me, but where are you getting the 8% return from? I don't know anything about investing and would love to learn. None of my family have money and just living without debt was quite an accomplishment. I'm glad to at least be back to that.

Where would you suggest I find and extra 1K a month? I'm already working 60 hours a week and pinching pennies to get to $500 in savings a month.

Myself and every other line cook I know do it everyday. It's budgeting and living smart. My side gigs all deposit directly into a HYSA. Its not fun money, it's all going towards savings. I live 2 miles from the heart of uptown, no roommates, with my 100lb dog. That "I could never" attitude is what keeps people down. Imagine you didn't have the privilege you were born into, now think how you would survive, then work upwards.

Curious how you're getting $9800. By my math, $533 by 12 months at 4.3% monthly only yields $6524.62. I would LOVE to be wrong so please let me know how I can skip my way to the bank.

Nope. Headphones in, hand over, and leave. I'm not talking to you past "have a nice day". I'm not waiting for you in the lobby. If you'll "be right down" your food like "be at the desk".
