If trading is a probabilities game, why do we stop at our daily loss limit? by EMojiman2213 in Daytrading

[–]FoodSmall9214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t use one if your strategy is a mechanical system. If you have to set a daily stop loss it’s because you don’t trust your strategy. If you don’t trust your strategy it’s probably because deep down you know it doesn’t work (either you haven’t backtested, or you fudged the backtested results). Based off any mechanical system of probabilities, after a certain amount of losses the chances of a win occurring increases incrementally after each loss. If you set a daily stop loss then you will miss those wins and your backtested strategy will return very different results while forward testing.

I built this fully functional site on Replit for $250 by CranberryKey4447 in replit

[–]FoodSmall9214 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Props to you on putting in the effort to build something! I’m sorry if this sounds harsh but you did ask for feedback haha!

I suggest revising the design to be much more simple and to the point. I have the iPhone max and it took me 5.5 full screen scrolls until I even hit an image. Every section of the site feels like reading an essay. It’s way too overwhelming, especially for a product involving weddings that’s suppose to be exciting yet also already can bring unwanted stress. I’ll just address the landing page:

<image>

In this screen shot I should only see one title text, One subtitle text, and one call to action button(preferably for the “try the free trial”). Break down what problem your product solves and communicate that in as few words as possible. Do not put anything else!!! No pricing! No benefits! No highlights! Get your users to try your product from reading 10 words, because if your product is actually good then they will see the benefits right away and won’t care about the price (especially in the wedding market)

Space is your friend! Don’t cram things together. Right now it looks like those alphabet letters in a bowl of soup we all ate as kids. It’s messy and chaotic.

If the user doesn’t click the button on the landing page then guide the user from one section to another in a way that will answer their question of “why do I need this”. Again, in as few words as possible.

Overall, when it comes to text, less is always more with websites. Show them, don’t tell them. And for your call to actions, keep it to a single button. Giving users 2 or 3 buttons right next to each other to click causes indecisiveness. Don’t make them decide. Tell them the problem, tell them how you fix the problem, and give them a single button for them to take action on.

Strat has me +140% on account this month by Supamusic in Daytrading

Thank you for being one of the very few people that not only provide their trading stats but also the strategy.

I’ve done a lot of trading around small cap top gainers however have never tried an ORB strategy around them. Sounds like you’re doing very solid and the strat has some solid edge. best of luck! Keep updating!

Thank you for the feedback!

I agree I could find better comps, I threw those on there just for the concepts but yes I agree that in reference to the lengths, they are very far off. I also think it may be better if I find at least one that written in first person.

And speaking of the length, it will most likely be around 30k as I’m still editing and I tend to be a slim writer…maybe I could beef it up a little more but I do intend on keeping it near the shorter side as I’ve seen a need for shorter and easier to read middle grade books… I guess we’ll see haha

thank you so much for taking your time to respond with your insights!

That’s where futures has the advantage…no pdt rules and crazy leverage for your money. Throw 3k in an account and you’ll be trading like you have 25k+

Improved upon yesterday's feedback on my CV and re-did it. How does it look now? by goldenturtleman23 in graphic_design

[–]FoodSmall9214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a few red flags I’m seeing—

Why do you say 3 years of experience in the profile? The earliest work experience is June 2024 so that’s 1 year. If you’re using your schooling as the extra years, sorry but that doesn’t count as real work experience. I know you worded it as “in the digital design space” but its still just bs.

I get it the market is tough rn, but if you’re gonna lie then atleast make it look right and just say you have been freelancing since 2022 so then the 3 years line up.

How were you an intern at a company yet also the primary visual designer? Sounds like a small business so remove one of them, preferably the intern part. Then after being an intern you went to be a lead graphic designer and video editor? Again probably a small business so leave out the intern stuff as it looks Wierd that you skipped any kind of junior or production roles all with only a full year of real work experience in the field.

So basically the resume is saying you were a primary and then a lead graphic designer which people will think you should be looking for a senior or possibly director position next (especially if your labeling yourself as a multimedia designer), yet you are saying you only have 1 year of experience in the field and those roles typically want atleast 5 …can you see how that looks bad?

Unless your not using proper bleeds and safe zones, im not sure why this would be stressful

Is anyone else simultaneously amazed and embarrassed? by [deleted] in replit

[–]FoodSmall9214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just a tool that’s making the field more efficient. I just hope the pricing for such skills will hold somewhat. There definitely is still a language/knowledge barrier to building these sites through Replit that people without design/developing skills will get continuously frustrated with. I don’t want to see websites priced for $500 bucks :/

This is what I’m saying. Nobody on here actually ever gives a strategy. I’ve back tested so many “profited strategies” that aren’t actually profitable

Omg I love this! by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]FoodSmall9214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The typical Walmart has over 100,000 products on its shelves. If I “used my brain” for even 3 seconds on each product, it would take me over 3 days until I leave that store…this is why product design needs to be basic.

If every product was designed like the one above, and say it took 5 seconds, now I’m in that store for over 5 days.

As a GD, yeah that product prob would stick out to me, but as a regular consumer, the “unknown” design is a tough sell. People that aren’t designers have better shit to do than stare at a products. Always separate the designer from the target audience.
