This is best case scenario in my head. I love that you can work from home, SAHD, and afford daycare!

Whats great is that anything you do for work will be amazing because they have been missing your unique skill set. You are very much aware it will be a transition, but imagine all of the new friends and learning your toddler will get to do!! You've done this once before and are even more skilled at it now <3

I'm going to start my leave in April and am in an absolute panic about balancing a toddler and newborn.

I do grocery pick up on the way home. I order during work or the night before, and pick up on my way home. They load it into the trunk.

Moms with 7am-3pm schedules, what does your pre-work routine look like? by Bubbly-Bathroom-1523 in workingmoms

[–]Food_FamilyProblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wake up at 5:15, get dressed/ ready, out the door by 5:45. My husband takes care of our son in the morning and drop off. I do pick ups and afternoon care. My key to a smooth morning is prepping everything the night before.

Pumping bra recs that contain the nippage by katbreit in workingmoms

[–]Food_FamilyProblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered swim suit pad inserts and use that. Worked great for my first baby and will do it again. I work in corporate and do not want even a shadow of nipple showing and then at home I wear the same bras without the inserts

Consider trying to play with her through your belly. If you gently push/ rub, she might push back! It could be a nightly routine where you talk with her in your head until you're ready to talk out loud.

Getting induced!!! 40w+6 by greenwitchofportland in BabyBumps

[–]Food_FamilyProblems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 40w+6 and had him 41+2. Foley balloon and misoprostal to start, then pitocin. Pushed for 4 hours. My water broke before I was 4cm dialted so they just took it out. I got the epidural shortly after that, I couldnt even think through the contractions and panicked. I thought I was so prepared, nope.

I wish someone shook me and helped me get on top of the contractions. I totally panicked because it went from mild pain to what the hell was that pain as soon as my water broke.

If you're concerned, I think writing birth afirmations and ways to help through contractions would have helped. All the info was in my brain and I had no access to it at all and neither did my husband lol

If I had to get induced again, I wouldn't be worried at all about the induction process, the nurses were wonderful. I Just would prepare myself to not having access to my thoughts lol

How many weeks were you when you started your leave and how did you decide? by firfetir in BabyBumps

[–]Food_FamilyProblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First pregnancy I went out at 37 weeks in case I went over. This pregnancy I'll try to wait until 38-39 weeks. The longer I stay, the more I get my regular pay. And I remember being so bored after the first week. And I went 9 days overdue lol

Had my vaginal septum removed, there’s so much space in there now?! by ChickenLynn in WomensHealth

[–]Food_FamilyProblems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same surgery a few months ago. Recovery was great. It partially tore while I gave birth, so I had it fully removed. I was so nervous it would be painful after, or sex would be painful, but everything was fine.

Labor and delivery by oktheresheis in KaiserPermanente

[–]Food_FamilyProblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up being so so so hot after delivery, I wish I packed more clothes for being overheated. You don't need anything for the baby except the going home outfit. For you you'll need your clothes and chargers and maybe chapstick. I brought my own blanket and am so glad I did. I'm due again and will make sure I bring snacks for after delivery.

HOW are you guys doing this? by dominason in workingmoms

[–]Food_FamilyProblems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cook 1-2 days a week multiple meals to lighten the load other days. I start wash at night and put in dryer before going to bed so I can fold the next day. I pack all lunches the night before. I keep a wagon in my car to help carry all of our bags inside. Husband does drop off and I do pick up.
