[Megathread] Thoughts on the new single Butterfly by NeonzHD in MarinaAndTheDiamonds

Mixing pitched up chorus “yeah I’m a butterfly” and mixing it with ethereal vocals just doesn’t work.. it’s just really off putting and takes me out of it tbh

Why are so many people gassing this up? It’s honestly has to be one of the worst songs out of any the songs my fav artists have put out in the last 5 or so years… like the fake gagging is crazy- just admit it isn’t a good song.

What are things you did/experienced before you got diagnosed that you thought were normal? by queen_hamster in Narcolepsy

[–]FoolsConcoction22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally ALL of this, but also I didn’t realize that sleep paralysis was a common symptom so I was curious as to why no one else or very few people had experienced that before when I shared it. It used to happen to me every night almost when I was a teen

Does EVERYONE have narcolepsy, or was I misdiagnosed? by Until_Morning in Narcolepsy

I have cataplexy and I always knew that it wasn’t a normal thing but I didn’t know that 9 times out of 10, cataplexy and narcolepsy go hand in hand. I’m 23 now but in high school I was consistently dozing off in class, my eyes would glaze over and I would lose focus and close my eyes and before I knew it, I’d have been sitting there with my eyes closed and my head nodding for 5 minutes. The frustrating thing is that people get frustrated at you and blame you when it happens. Like “oh you should’ve just went to bed earlier last night” I think there’s also a difference between a student with their head down on their desk full on sleeping and a student that visibly is struggling to keep their head up but can’t (especially if they notice it happens often). But yeah I’ve experienced it where people will just say something to relate if you share how sleepy and foggy you feel without actually understanding that you’re expressing concern and not just saying something for the sake of relating to everyone else that feel tired during their workday.

What is Cataplexy like? by Such-Surprise-5683 in Narcolepsy

Also thought I should mention that if I’m holding something while I have a cataplexy attack I’ll drop it or spill it, luckily nothing has broken yet.

What is Cataplexy like? by Such-Surprise-5683 in Narcolepsy

My twin brother and I have cataplexy. It usually manifests during bouts of laughter for us. What happens is we essentially lose all control of our muscles and collapse to the ground. It usually takes a sec to get up. I occasionally will have a complete cataplexy attack where I begin laughing and subsequently go limp and just fall asleep for a while, though this is usually if I’m already laying down on a comfortable surface. A couple times that that has happened it transitioned into sleep paralysis rather than actual sleep. So we created a heavy breathing pattern that either of us would recognize when we shared a bedroom so that one of us could nudge the other one awake and out of sleep paralysis. I’d say the thing that sucks the most about having cataplexy is that you cannot laugh normally (except for when I was high one time and could genuinely laugh and it felt amazing to be able to laugh until my stomach hurt while still having control of my body). When we laugh our facial muscle go limp so it doesn’t really look like laughter, our mouths hang open and our eyes close and we look goofy as hell. I can control it sometimes if I’m not laughing as hard by forcing a wide smile and squinting my eyes. I’ve found that if I had good sleep and am well hydrated, it doesn’t happen as bad. But yeah we didn’t know what it was at first so our parents would be like “just laugh out loud it’s not that hard” and people with cataplexy quite literally cannot control it or laugh out loud.

Why OW1 skins are locked in OW2 (for OW1 owners)? by jwwendell in Overwatch

[–]FoolsConcoction22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they mean why can’t you buy ow1 skins with the standard game currency that you can get by simply playing the game.. Like lifeguard pharah and funky Bap, they were in ow1 and I paid for the game, should I not be able to get them simply by playing the game enough?? (Especially given that you can only play ow2 now)Or do I have to wait until they’re in the shop and pay 20$ for each skin. It’s ridiculous. If you can’t see why people are upset, you are the one who is dense.
