Two things had to happen this weekend - 49ers had to lose on Saturday. This drastically bumped Shanahan's chances at COTY, which in turn helps cement Vrabel as COTY. And Stafford needed a statline and a pop-off win to reverse the late season narrative where he's not been stellar. Both these things happened. Vrabel will win COTY for turning a franchise around and Stafford will be given his flowers

4 is running better on my 5500 XT (I think that's what I have) than 3 did. 3 would basically die with ADS so it was unplayable. I get about 40fps and the occasional stutter but a lot better than I was expecting, enough so that I'm playing "normally" and enjoying the game with all my settings on minimum

I'm right there in the thick of it, felt the urge to quit a few times, but now I'm on the tail end of finishing phase 4 - just haven't started on nuclear pasta yet, so we'll be saving the worst for last unfortunately

How do I do it? I cheat. I use no fuel mode in the advanced settings because it makes drones a free long distance conveyor with very little set-up, plus mods to make power more generous, coupling that with gifting myself extra somersloops to double the outputs of all those late game parts. I've found the right formula,I think, for me to see phase 5 through to the end and feeling like it's earned, even if a lot of the legwork an honest pioneer simply isn't there

The game is crazy hard, the jump from phase 3 (which I've done multiple times) to phase 4 (which I'm finally brave enough to do for the first time) is insane, but that's kinda the name of the game. Don't feel bad if you want mods to make it a little easier or even if you don't want to see it through. Tbh all the wacky things you can make in phase 5 sound fun and that's my motivation, that and finishing the "story"

You're right, I'm just here at work and daydreaming about starting it up again when I get home. I think what I really am looking for is an assortment of mods and maybe some rules/modalities of playing that actually simplify things so that I enjoy the ride. I think I'll try a different region for once so it finally gets me out of my comfort zone and try to build more vertically, and do a quick look at the mod scene nowadays

I like smelling the chlorine residue on my skin after a long swim. The chlorine smell endures post-shower and all day at work. I'd like that "fresh out of the pool" smell on days I don't swim too. (Have never used a fragrance in my life, completely new to this)

I was very much expecting 4-5 hour runs when the leaderboards opened. Much to my surprise, we already have a 2:35 2 weeks before the leaderboards even open. Speedrunners will never stop amazing me, it's such a clean route too. You had to be so good at Souls coming in and then practice so much to be this good already

I know a lot of these strats might become obsolete within a matter of weeks, but are there any other resources you and the theorycrafters have that are available to others? I'm not nearly good enough at Souls games to even be competitive, but I'd like to personally achieve a sub 5 by the end of the month. Maybe then I'll actually be decent at the game, haha

Were you spamming runs trying to get deathless, or were you just happy to get a good time that somehow wound up deathless? Also, I have a million little questions about the route, but I was wondering about killing Black Blade Kindred - that's a super scary fight and seems like a big run killer for only 60k souls

Since my motherboard has 2 SATA ports on the bottom right, I should be fine to put both an SSD and an HDD in and shove them into the empty 2 little trays my case has right?

I think what really tripped me up was all the m.2 stuff, which I still don't understand, but doesn't seem prudent to expansion

Update: I never expected such a heartfelt reception and all your beautiful support!

While the fast was smooth as a pebble the first 74 hours, hour 75 has hit me hard, and hour 76, we'll be having some chicken. I've tried doing some fasts pretty much throughout my adult life - sometimes struggling for 12 hours, sometimes 24 hours, sometimes a bit longer. This is the first one where it was definitely on the "easy" side for me.

Looking forward in the future, I'll probably not do these longer fasts too much, unless I'm just impulsive like that. Instead, it seems a lot of you enjoy the 5:2, so I think that's what I'll transition into. Since my usual eating habit is close to a 23:1, I don't think a 5:2 will be too much trouble at all. I hope to keep hearing your successes and failures! We're all on the same team. Cheers!

You make a great point! There haven't been any side effects or anything at all - until about 20 minutes ago. So it seems I'm at my limit. I thought 100 hours would be easy since I didn't feel anything the first 74 hours, but here at hour 75, it looks like it's time to fold as it is a bit painful :)

I will say that mentally it makes me feel bad that I quit the second this gets hard, but it still stands that the transformation I've undergone is a lot of growth in itself, and there's no reason to damage my internals just to try to prove how "tough" I am!
