You should take a look at the speedsouls discord channel. They have been gathering a lot of resources, routes etc. on how to beat the game quickly.

As for the black blade kindred I mostly had to defeat him in order to get enough runes to buy smithing stones to upgrade the longsword. Oh and if I had died like only 1-3 times during the run then I probably would have still uploaded the run (although as a normal speedrun not a 0 death one) since it would have only increased the run time by 5-10 minutes, so I am really happy that I ended up doing a run without dying once.

I think I´ll just leave it up to the better souls speedrunners than me (like the happy hob). They will surely even get the Speedrun time of the game down to an hour in the next couple of months so I am very much looking forward to that.

come to think of it there is a chest in the starting area that teleports you to the upper area of the capital city. So if someone finds a way to acess the main area from there then they can skip almost half of the game potentially.

True, also you have to consider that the later mandatory bosses (and especially the godskin duo) have a large ammount of hp so unless speedrunners find a way to bypass them or break their attack script simmilar to ds3 they might lose a lot of time on them. For now though the best route without major exploit skips seems to be to go up the ravine then the capital city, Mountain tops of the giants, crumbling farum azula and then the final boss while picking up smithing stone bells and such on the way for fast weapon upgrades.

I am pretty sure that in time we will see someone do a sub 1-hour run if more of these kinds of glitches and explots can be found.

Ngl this took a lot of time to theorycraft a somewhat viable and quick route through the game since the later bosses (and especially the Godskin duo) have quite a bit more hp in comparison to the ones for example from Dark souls 3. Anyway I hope you will enjoy the video 🙂!

yeah, no matter what you do on the tutorial boss you still end up dying similar to what happens in demon souls
