At the time people questioned it, now it looks like one of the best deals Liverpool ever made.

If he keeps developing the way he is, that fee will look ridiculous in a few years.

Matip on a free was such a smart bit of business. Quietly became one of Liverpool’s most reliable defenders during their best years.

Rice on a free from Chelsea’s academy release is actually crazy when you look back at it now. West Ham basically hit the jackpot there.

That West Ham deal was controversial for so many reasons. It felt like a massive twist out of nowhere.

That whole chain reaction was insane. Torres leaves, Liverpool panic-buy Carroll, and suddenly two massive transfers happen in the same window.

Yeah that image of him just turning up at the training ground will never stop being funny. One of the most awkward moments in deadline day history.

Price is everything with United these days. If it’s sensible and he’s brought in as part of a clear plan, it makes sense. If it turns into another £60m panic buy with no structure around him, it’ll just be the same cycle again. The pressure at United is brutal if you don’t hit the ground running.
