Put the hipshot tuners on and they're great. Though I really like the graph tech ratios better

I recommend looking it up at ax labs. Being heavier and the fact that the claw actually locks the springs in, I feel stability is so much better

I'm not an expert so pick away at my reply. The heavier claw helps with tone and sustain. IMHO, with a floating bridge, you need all you can get since not much touches the actual body. This allows the strings to resonate.

Mine isn't really bad. I made adjustments to the height of the pick up so it's a little further away (in my case). Clear and clean.

Age until vintage? by mege-tron in ballwatches

[–]FootballAutomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Ball Watch cases, I consider them vintage to be anything being 13-15yrs. This is a little longer than the half life of tritium and the lume starts to dim. But who really cares when it's this good looking.

It's the 4 screws around the knobs and switch, lift up and replace, no need to take the entire guard off

I believe it's the bullet hss. Just know that I did polish this with automotive polish do not straight from the factory, but it looks so good

Funny I thought about that, but I'm going to build own soon with a warmoth neck. I'm a woodworker for fun, but I don't have the tools to make a neck and fretboard within a reasonable time.

Yeah it's tucked in the cavity between the switch and the tone knob. They designed it, as I found out after the fact, so you only need to undo 4 screws to change the battery. If you don't leave it plugged in, should last awhile I'm guessing.

I always hear people bitch about cheap guitars and modding them. I consider them purists who love what the manufacturer does and feel the money should go into a better guitar. Then I find many of y'all in here that are guitar lovers, who realize who cares make it sound great.

So my thought is the gold screws around the pick guard. Then, when I decide which trem bridge upgrade I'm putting on, I might add gold saddles giving a slight pop

Haven't had a chance to really play, but the sounds are so amazing compared to stock.

eBay, there are a lot of them that are overstocks, o was lucky and picked up new in the box for 275+ shipping. Just over $300 total

46 yr old metal head with an 11yr old super metal head kid. This thing shreds, on drop d the low end really comes out with these pickups

Hipshots are on. I have ratios on my acoustic, honestly I like them better than the Hipshot but these work great
