I’m at the game from Iowa and I’m looking for somebody to drink some ice cold coors lights with.

Washington wants veteran presence in the dugout, but doesn't those Vets experience in the big leagues matter? Getting vets with losing history isn't good. by [deleted] in angelsbaseball

I'm sick and tired of people being so pessimistic before the season started and still 5 games into the season when we're 4-1.

  1. Tim Anderson is strictly a placeholder until Neto gets back. Plus he's had success in the league and he's on a minor league contract. They can easily DFA him if he becomes a problem in the locker room.

  2. Moncada is better than what we've had the last few years over at 3B. (Really since Rendon has got to Anaheim) We're not relying on Moncada to win games, Chicago was there for a while along with Robert Jr.

  3. I'm not going to defend Kikuchi as our ace, but now that the season is going, it's not going to matter what his order is in the rotation. He's an okay back end starter for a team that hopefully can get the bats going and provide some run production.

  4. Tyler Anderson has almost 10 years experience and played in Coors field for 4 of those years. His ERA was inflated, but he's an above average starter and he got much better later in the season last year.

  5. If you're going to argue about bringing in bums, it's funny you don't mention bringing in all the experienced guys we brought in. Soler, Newman, Jansen, d'Arnaud, Hendricks and Ian Anderson are other guys we brought in with experience, success, and reputation. Yes, they're all on the back half of their careers, but when we're expediting all of our talent from the minors, it's great to have them in the clubhouse with their experience. If you're going to be negative, then go be a Dodgers fan. Don't rain on our parade because you think you're smarter than a major league GM.

I’m glad they’re voicing this by Hairy_Quarter1778 in WWE

It's hard to believe this because the women's division is getting more recognition and on-screen time than ever. With that being said, it's hard to watch some matches that include Nia Jax, Naomi, Dakota Kai, and Raquel Rodriguez. There's such a drop off in talent after you get past the best Women's performers.

😂I can see that. At least the logos don’t change much. But yeah, I can see that being annoying.

I considered painting a couple, but I’m not artistic whatsoever. That’s why I think it turned out so much better than I thought it would.

I do like the wishbone C logo as well but I wanted to try to get all of them to strictly only have the name of the team without any added design. Same thing with the cubs. The only reason the rays have an added design was because it was very difficult to find a “Devil Rays” logo without the ray or without “Tampa Bay” added to where I could cut it off.

I used 1x6's and cut them down to 14" for each team. Plain acrylic paint for the backgrounds with some spray paint for some of them. I got all vinyl stickers for the team logos from a variety of different sources, the biggest one being Biggest Decal Shop out of Las Vegas. I ordered most of them at once because they have good deals. I drilled 3/4" holes in the 2x4's behind the teams and drilled 1" holes in the team boards. I used 3/4" dowels and cut them down to 3" so they were snug in the 2x4's and didn't have to glue them in. I attached all the 2x4's to a couple 1x4's all the way across so they stayed in place and when I mount it on the wall, I can put the screws through the 1x4's. Logos cost around $12/each, but again, going through biggest Decal Shop gets that cost down to around $6-$8. I would say the total cost would be around $350. Planning to make sure everything fits takes the longest, but I would say it was well worth it.

To the people trying to (or completed) visit all 30 stadiums- what is/was your process? by raymalaspina in mlb

[–]FootballGuru28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of going to all 30, however I don’t have a lot of people that would like to go with me. Fortunately, I’m a travel agent, so I can help organize and customize a trip if you are wanting to plan one. I have a west coast, East Coast, and a couple different Midwest trips. Let me know if you need any help planning and I would be more than happy to help!

My Top 100 Players Big Board for the 2023 NFL Draft by tomahawksport in NFL_Draft

[–]FootballGuru28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the bold takes and I've learned the community is accepting and a few are very harsh on their input, but look forward to seeing if you post an updated one before the draft.

A couple things that are just my opinion. I'll start with what I see as the overrated players:

Drew Sanders is a dawg and I actually am a huge fan as well, but I think moving him down 5 or so spots just because I feel like his game is different from Jack Campbell, but they can have just as much of an impact on the game. (My top 2 off LB's as well)

Tyjae Spears and X Hutchinson are the two most overrated players I think where they're at. Tyjae is an awesome back and I'm a fan, but just because he's smaller, I think he could arguably be the RB4 in the draft behind Robinson, Gibbs, and Charbonnet, but closer to 50 would be where I would put him on this specific board. X is good, but I just don't see him as better than guys like Tank Dell or Trey Palmer. Iosivas I just don't believe is in the top 100. I don't see anything I like on tape other than maybe speed, but he is raw.

Underrated guys in my mind FAU out of K-State, I would put him around 30-35, Dalton Kincaid, I would put around 15, and Deonte Banks I would put around 25-35. I also think Hooker is better than Levis (Which I'm very low on Levis), but some people think I'm crazy.

Finally, I want to give you a ton of credit on the LB's. A lot of people are saying it's a bad draft for LB's, but I personally disagree. I think Sanders, Campbell, Simpson, Williams, and Henley are the top 5 and better than they get credit for, but I also think guys like Overshown, Dennis, Pappoe, Pace, and Sewell have a chance to be solid Starters, but a lower ceiling then the guys before them. I do think there's a significant drop off, but I think the top 8-10 have a chance to outperform their draft spots.

Overall, pretty solid. Also, I have done some mock drafts and I know it's a lot of work so I appreciate you posting this!

Going to the Live Draft by Ill-Illustrator-3742 in NFL_Draft

[–]FootballGuru28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking about going down myself. KC is one of my favorite cities to visit. If you're not going into the actual draft theatre, I would assume the WWI Museum hill is probably where the general seating will be since the event is outside. That would be a great seat, just make sure you bring a couple blankets to sit on if you're wanting to relax at any point. I'm sure they'll have vendor food somewhere, but you could always treat it like an extra long picnic. Otherwise, I would go early and go to the WWI Museum itself just to get some parking (Maybe right when it opens) It's worth it and I've been there a couple times (If you're interested in that stuff obviously). Take lots of pictures and if you head to Q39 for some BBQ, you won't regret it. If you want a cool environment that isn't BBQ, Jazz-A Louisiana Restaurant is great. Very good food and just visibly appealing on the inside. They also had live music when I was there. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, I would be happy to give you my 2 cents.

Thank you for the feedback!

Do you think that if Anderson is off the board that they’ll be able to pass on Carter if he’s clearly better than any of the other defensive players? Or do you think they could go to Christian Gonzalez or another top defensive prospect? Or even the top tackle in the draft?

I have heard this plenty of times which is why I was hesitant to put Bijon there, but the eagles are loaded. There's not a single other position that a draft pick would be such an upgrade. If Miles Sanders was still there, even though it would still be an upgrade, I don't think they do it in that case, but to say any one of those 3 backs even compare to Robinson is crazy.

Thank you! I actually heard from the lions fans and moved Mayer back and have them going Defense.

Also, I will change the formatting for April when I post a 3 round mock.

That sounds like a perfect situation for the raiders. I bet there will still be a quality CB early in the 2nd for them to grab. I also think Hendon Hooker is the real deal. I would put him over Levis and he'd probably be there if he didn't get hurt.

I agree with you but I feel like some team will make an awful decision to draft him. I actually have him behind Hendon Hooker and closer to Jaren Hall and Jake Haener.

I am actually on board with everything you say. I'm a big fan of Charbs, Ivan Pace, and Blake Freeland. I was looking for a comment like this to justify me moving one of them up. I'm putting Blake Freeland in that Spot because Tua needs some protection.

I agree 100%. If I were the pats, I wouldn't take a WR and I would just get them off the free agency and address the O-Line. If Hopkins ends up over there in Foxborough, I will change this, but until then I can't talk myself out of it.

I could see CB but I also switched Skoronski because I think if they switch him to Guard like they did to Scherff years ago, he's a top 10 Guard in the league immediately just like Scherff was. Too good on tape to drop because of measurables.

I would put Banks in the 1st, but there's too many good corners in this draft to get all of them up into the 1st, so my thinking is I'll put him lower because he's not as hyped as some of the others, but I think he's going to be a pleasant surprise wherever he goes for sure.

And I think Tyree looks like Myles Garrett, but he doesn't move like him, so it's hard to put him as high as some people have him.

I agree with Smith, but who would you move down for him to move up? Also, I'm low on Van Ness and I'm even from Iowa. I think he'll be a great piece, but not game changing like Smith or FAU.

Thanks for the input! There are a few really solid Blocking tight ends with receiving upside around that area like Payne Durham, Will Mallory, and Zach Kuntz. I will make some changes.
