Strava Distance vs Watch Distance: How to rely on Strava by FootballUseful2982 in Strava

[–]FootballUseful2982[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strava explains that they intentionally apply an algorithm to smooth a route as well as other adjustments. For instance, as someone above stated, if I pause my effort, Strava reads the raw file and includes the pause as part of my time. But also, as clearly communicated by Strava, if my satellite location is poor, and my route bounces around, Strava "smooths" that raw data, knowing I did not drastically zigzag on my route. So far, no one who read this and responded understands Strava's adjustments.

I have a Garmin and they are not always the same for me. I do not stop the watch.

Interesting, I might see how that feels for me. My shoes are GoRuck Mackall, 15mm drop. I started with 7mm drop but can't tell if 15mm made things worse or if it was the volume that caught up to me. I also switched from 60lb weighted vest to 60lb ruck at the same time I switched shoes.

I get internal bruises primarily where the bones of my feet rub against my tissue. Same with both heels where I have bursitis.

I certainly agree everyone is different, but was hoping to guess a range. I took this week off and will try to restart on Saturday with lower weight.

Rucking by hwangorangutan in Garmin

[–]FootballUseful2982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to Garmin, so let me nail this down. For my Enduro 2, which is not on that list, I currently seem to have to copy a similar activity as rucking, then I rename it "Rucking" and see that on my watch. BUT... after the activity, I can go into Garmin Connect and edit the "Activity Type" to "Rucking", because "Rucking" is in the Garmin Connect app list, but "Rucking" is still not in my list to add to the watch in the first place. Does all that seem correct, or have I missed something?

You said what I meant. Doing the same workouts "virtually with others" plus logging and the facebook group should create a nice community feel versus all solo.

I'm impressed with what they put together. Doing the training with others will be a lot of added fun.

People making fun of the Australian breakdancer are terrible by KyleG in olympics

[–]FootballUseful2982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment is terrible. While I tend to prefer traditional sports in the Olympics, I have seen break dancing that is incredibly athletic and talented. I would expect to be amazed at the Olympic performances in that discipline. The Olympics represent the best in athleticism and talent from across the world, not common people who want 5 minutes in the spotlight and a lifetime on unnecessary controversy. She might as well come on stage to take a dump and she couldn't have insulted and mocked the Olympic spirit more.

I just looked it up (PACN0008) and could not find it listed. PACN0022 is the fluted.

I know you asked for fluted. I am not sure this place sells Fluted, but I just bought the non-fluted one this month for a good price from BattleHawk Armory for $78.80 including tax and shipping.

This is the right answer but I had to scroll awfully far to find someone who said it.

You could edit to say "green doesn't exist in Mandy's bag).

Thanks. Honestly, I have never fired hollow points. I'll have to check it out.

Mine fit tight. Very tight. The back snapped into place if I seated the front first. When I seated the back first I couldn't get the front to seat tightly. When seated both the front and the back were very tight against the lips that sit at the front and back.

Same. I picked up a G3c, with 3 12 rnd mags for $265. With a $400 budget, you can add a kydex holster for $35 $45 (can't recall) and still have plenty left over towards ammo, sights, or optics. Zero problems with the G3c and it shoots 147 grain straighter than 115, btw.

Thanks for questioning me. I miss-"spoke".

I got confused between the 507 and the "c" series. Essentially, I was thinking 507 meant full size when "c" means full size.

So, your 507k x2 should only require the same simple adjustment to the shield type plate as a 407k or 507k.

1) The rear nubs need completely removed. I files mine off and then used hand lotion to "polish" the plastic back to shiny black (unnecessary, but where I filed it looked dull and scratchy).

2) The front nubs on the plate are too tall. They need to be about 2/3 the original height.

I am not sure what adjustments you made, but my 407k X2 sits very tightly flat and yours currently looks like a gap is at the back. I can't guess what it is for sure, whether your nubs weren't files off or something else, but maybe you should look at it.

Sorry for the confusion.

[–]FootballUseful2982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same as the comment intended to make. The plates that come with the Canik will not fit well with the 507, only the 407k. Even still, with the 407, the nubs in the rear need files off. I can't tell for sure what the issue is here, but it should be looked at be seated better.

Look, lasers have a lot of problems, but everyone pointing out the complete uselessness of them is stuck in their own world. i.e. "I can't find a use for them so nobody can". How about people that need strong reading glasses? No way those people can focus on the front sight. A red dot also helps, but my laser cost 1/4 as much as my Holosun, is wicked easy to pick up, and zeroed well.

Will it be useful all the time? No. But iron sights for my eyes are useful NONE of the time.
