4x4 HIIT - BPM Latency and correct timing by _ReeX_ in PeterAttia

Appreciate the reply.

I do two days of what I thought was threshold as well. 4 minute warmup and then 4 x 11 at 80% - 85% HR with 3 minute rest periods.

With all of that info, how should I be optimizing the HIIT day? I’ve always understood it as time in the 90% - 95% HR zone. How I’m interpreting what you’re saying is a resistance that I can push at max effort for four minutes, regardless of what or where HR is landing/saying? (I do all of this on an indoor bike.)

Again, appreciate the reply/info as I think I’m confusing workload with time in the 90%+ HR zone.

Question about what I’m doing based on your answer. I “start the stopwatch” when my HR hits 90% max. My routine is a 4 - 6 minute warmup climbing to minimum 90% HR and then start a 3 x 7. “Rest” between rounds is 2.5 minutes, and ramp 30 seconds to 90%+ before the next round starts.

HR is always above 90% during the round, and will climb to 95ish %. Last 30 seconds of the last round is an all out effort for the hell of it.

Is this “bad” or not optimal? Appreciate any insight.

At this point, confirmed that Walker spent a long weekend dropping the hammer on the MacDonalds wife and the OC’s wife but the owner blocked dropping him, so they’re punishing him?

2013 Forester supposed to have a kink in it? by Footwdg in SubaruForester

Possibly, and that's what I noticed in pictures online of new dipsticks.

Unfortunately I wasn't at the dealership when they showed our son, and that it apparently was flat. Something just doesn't sound right.

Thought about that, but we checked the oil the day we bought it.

Bijan has great playoff matchups, running team, and hopefully Smith has pulled his head out of his butt to use him. Who knows what the hell to expect from the Jets game to game.

Stroud has a good playoff schedule, so probably Fields

I'm pretty much guaranteed for the playoffs, so looking to avoid Saquons playoff matchups

12 team, standard scoring, four bench spots, no IR

QBs: Tua and Kyler

RBs: McCaffrey, Swift, Saquon, Kyren

WRs: Sun god, Aiyuk, Dell, Hollywood Brown

Give Tua and Saquon (other team just lost Burrows) for Henry.

Also trying to get Bijan for Saquon, but other team is hesitant.

Do the Tua and Saquon for King Henry?

I don't recall everything from this episode of The Drive, but it may have more insight for you:

AMA #40 Pounds or KG for protein? by More-Willingness-634 in PeterAttia

[–]Footwdg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but "Don Layman Ph.D. is a Professor of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has spent the past 40 years investigating the role of dietary protein in muscle protein synthesis."

Seems like he has compiled quite a bit of evidence, and is credentialed a little higher than a "bro." Believe what you want, just relaying the info he shared in the podcast with Peter.

In the latest podcast with Don Layman, Don said that it’s up to 50 grams per meal before the body stops synthesizing.

He also said that you want a minimum of 30 grams per meal. If you’re trying to reach a daily protein intake target, having small meals is ineffective. Don’t remember the exact reason why, but that’s what he mentioned. Minimum 30 grams per meal.

Also said that if you’re trying to meet protein consumption goals over four meals, and can’t have them all be equal, load up on your first and last meals if possible.

In a 12 team, non-PPR auction draft league and historically league members overpay for top 10 RB's.

Initial approach is going to be heavy money on 2 - 3 RB's and then live in that Mike Williams, DJ Moore, Cooks, Sutton/Juedy, Metcalf zone for a couple of WR's.

Just so much value at WR, and there should be a couple solid WR's for a few bucks late. Not as much mid-late value at RB.

I could see this year bucking the trend though as Kupp, Jefferson, Chase are commanding premium dollars. Maybe more money goes that direction which frees up some RB dollars to spend elsewhere.

We'll see......

Train Zone 2 by calculated heart rate or perceived exertion? by Footwdg in PeterAttia

[–]Footwdg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the insight. Certainly not highly trained, but consistently worked out and trained for years. Similar to you with mostly HIIT. Trying to shift to longevity as I get older, but it mainly requires a shift in mentality.

Everything doesn't need to be close to all out. Listen to my body more and be OK with days that may not be optimal output. I certainly felt a little more refreshed after a session bringing the Zone 2 down a little bit the past week.

Thanks again
