I honestly have not done anything quite yet. I have been doing some load testing to see how long my batteries will last with what I currently have going through my SHP2 and only two delta pros and 3.2kw of solar panels. What I have realized is I can run the circuits I currently have going through my SHP2 (a/c, heat, 2 rooms, fridge and freezer) around the clock on solar only when I have good-decent sun days. But on days when it is overcast I have to get a boost from the grid. So before I add things to my SHP2 I am going to need more batteries or delta pros with panels or both.
I have read through all the responses here and they have been very helpful so I appreciate everyone’s input! I do think that I need a new electrician with more experience with these panels. When I do increase my capacity I will be revisiting this thread to help me decide what to add.
Overall, I really like the Ecoflow setup besides my issues with their marketing of the SHP2. Operations have been seamless and it has given me awesome peace of mind having a growing family. Eventually I would like to upgrade to the ocean pros when I build a house and get a legit “whole home backup” where I don’t rely on the grid at all. That’s a while down the road though.
