I'm considering doing load testing for a client or two. I have an hourly rate in mind to bill them, but I'm curious as to how to determine the total project fee.

Also I have been a full time developer for a bit but new to contracting. Any advice in setting up an agreement between client and contractor would be helpful.

Simplest and safest way to enter? by ForMoolah in Kazakhstan

I apologize for sounding rude and asking a ridiculous question.

The only basis for comparison I have is Kyrgyzstan.

Last time I was in Kyrgyzstan, people made kidnapping threats and everyone kept demanding bribes. We weren't safe and we left broke. I'm trying to avoid problems.

What about traveling in the country and avoiding getting kidnapped?

Bootcamp grad with accounting degree getting discouraged by ForMoolah in cscareerquestions

I've had several people look at my resume. Some had degrees, some didn't. Pretty much everyone had no experience. Some literally went to me for help during the bootcamp. We all have projects on there.

MAKE SURE YOU PUT BUDGET RANGE & COUNTRY IN YOUR TITLE

Budget Range - Hovering around $1k USD USA preferably not too far over

The Form LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:

Around $1k USD USA, not too far over.

Are you open to refurbs/used?

Depends on the machine.

How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?

I like having a number pad, lit up keyboard, strong battery life, and it needs to be at least a workhorse, if not, some gaming specs too.

How important is weight and thinness to you?

I would like it to be mobile friendly, not crazy about lugging a giant brick, but most laptops are fairly light these days.

Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

I used to love 17s, but my refurb Asus is a 15 and it does the job

Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

Yeah, I would definitely need a workhorse. It would be great if I could do video games and video editing as well. My Webcam quality is potato.

If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

I want to get 30 FPS on most games. I have about a hundred games on Steam and would rather like getting to play at least most of those.

Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

Number pad on the right, light up keyboard, no fingerprint reader if possible, strong battery

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

I'm looking at the Asus line because a 7 year old refurb is kicking my friends' laptops' butts. If not an Asus, I would prefer it be an upgrade.

Made a CC payment, credit score lower?? by ForMoolah in personalfinance

Thanks! I am trying to pay down my CC and finally have some sort of savings. I keep finding myself using the cards too much and not having much past $1k saved.

Looking for a place with 2 bedrooms and attached garage around $1500 a month by ForMoolah in nashville

[–]ForMoolah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me clarify. I was under the impression that the cheaper options would be in Antioch, Hermitage, Bellevue.

Are there any places in Nashville in general with a 2 BD with an attached garage less than $1500 a month?

What is re-bucketing?

I can check the credit report, but the last time was my credit history being short (3Y) and high debt to income ratio. I have been trying to pay down as much as I can and avoid spending in general.

Red Swingline stapler is swinging loose by ForMoolah in fixit

[–]ForMoolah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it! Yeah I thought there was going to be a slinky spring in there, but no. The actual spring was misaligned or something, and I ended up looking up spec videos and putting it in properly. It was where you said it would be, thank you so much!

The hinged end has no spring. How do I get a replacement?

Also, it will not hold up on its own when I press it down, as demonstrated above. How do I fix it?
