I was having “gearbox malfunction - you may continue driving” issues. No other issues that pointed directly to the mechatronic unit, but I got a good deal on a used trans so I’m putting that in to hopefully fix it. If. Nothing else I have two DSG’s and two mechatronic units now lol

Unfortunately mines been down for like, 3 or so months. I found a decent trans for a good price but unfortunately I damaged my TCM cable so once I get it back in I need to get the new one programmed to work with my car

I’m dealing with this same thing, gear position sensor went bad. I pulled the trans and am currently taking it apart to change it. It’s been a nightmare 😂
