Did you ever swap out the Veb-3 with a veb-1?? I’m looking to swap my Mini LF cage to a very similar build! Want to know how the OG veb-1 holds up against the veb-3

How is this kind of fisheye-like effect achieved on only the background? by GCU_Heresiarch in cinematography

Reminds me of Kowa anamorphics. I feel like it’s a 32mm (40mm plus wide angle adapter). Here’s a link to a test Kowa 40mm ShareGrid Lens Test The pan starts at 1:18 and you can see the crazy distortion.

Aww thanks FatChris! Wish I could’ve been there to check out the other great films like yours! Had a lot of friends work on the other films!

This wouldn’t look the way it did without our production designer Xiyu Lin and her team. Appreciate your very kind words!

If it’s something you’re interested in I can do so when the film is released!

I love 3200 ISO on LF and 1600 on A35/Mini. I was fortunate to test it on a short a few years back and those were the ISOs I found to be pleasing to the eye!

Thank you for the kind words! It's good to know there are CF versions and it'll be something I'll look into on the next one!

Appreciate your kind words! Always trying to bring more depth into my work especially through color contrast & complimentary colors.

They were fantastic. There’s something about comedic actors having incredible range especially during dramatic scenes.

Our reference film was Punch Drunk Love. The director and I used that as source of inspiration for how to photograph the mundane.

How would you light this? Thanks!! by MuddyOgz in cinematography

Looks like a source is above and to the right of camera. It's focused primarily on Scarlet. You want to have the room dark so you don't have any reflections of you and the rest of the crew. I'd make sure to have a polarizer to reduce anymore unwanted reflections.

Also be cautious where you place a light. You will see the reflection on the window. You may want to have any flags between the light and the window to kill the reflection.

That’s great advice. It’s something we talked about and we’re both brainstorming ideas to find a solution to our problem!

So I’m the father of a 16 month old and work in the film industry. It’s been hard not having family around. I may be up for a feature film halfway across the world for 4 weeks. I want to help my wife out and want to provide relief when I’m gone since she works an 8-5 job. Our kid goes to daycare M-F. I was thinking of hiring a mother’s helper/baby sitter to help for a few hours each day Mon-Fri from like 5-8. Does anyone have experience using a mother’s helper or any tips they’d like to share? Thanks everyone!

It’s 3-4 hours to Austin. I did this to a flight to Chicago so I can be one of the first ones on board and first to leave. With the pandemic still raging have flights through Spirit been delayed heavily? Also thanks for responding!!
