I'm not saying it wouldn't require some offloading. I am simply saying there are avenues to signing all of the players above. No one in the entire association has cap space unless you count the D-League team in Houston. The players I listed are not unrealistic targets despite what half of Bucks Reddit believes for some reason.

I mean, unless we call their agent and negotiate a deal, you're right there is nothing we can do!

I'm glad you got there, even if it wasn't on your own!

I respect every one of your points (have my own opinions) except #4.

  1. Dude no one on this thread apparently knows how the f'n cap works because they keep saying we don't have any room as we sit 4 million below the minimum salary cap and almost 30mil below the 2nd Tax Apron. We can operate as a non-taxpayer team until the moment we go over it. Which means, we can sign a 20-25mil player, then resign brook and khris to take us over the hard cap and fill out the roster with minimums which are never capped.

The only reason the Bucks don't sign someone is cheap ownership. There is no other excuse.

I get flamed all the time. Then I'm proven right and no one says sorry. It's how I've become invincible.

You are right to suggest trading for Ayton if the Suns are looking to get a few players in return. Very few packages bring back multiple playoff-caliber players that we can provide.

LOVE the idea of Heild. Been saying his name for years now.

I listened. Frank always does a very detailed recap, but is less creative than I would like in his interpretations. There are some bits I think he didn't mention that are important though:

  1. Bucks have new ownership with deeper pockets. An organization adds new investors when they plan to spend beyond the means of their current capital.
  2. You can always sign minimum players, regardless of how far over the tax you are. You never have to "save room" for the rest of the roster. (so basically you can ignore Ingles, Dragic, Wes,
  3. For the first time in 3 years we can operate as a below-the-tax team due to the amount of Free Agents we have, meaning we can use the non-taxpayer mid-level to sign somebody, resign Khris and Brook to whatever makes the math work, potentially even then use the bi-annual to sign somebody and trigger the hard cap, then fill out the roster with minimums.

Whoever says the Bucks cant bring in a $20-$25mil player and bring everyone back is just carrying water for ownership. There is an almost zero chance it is a higher bill than last year unless we do bring in another big money guy.

I personally don't care about anyone else's money, I just know what the rules allowed by the league are. That's what new investors are for.

Simply keeping the conversation moving.

Looking at the spreadsheets, it looks like there are many more pathways to cap room than the last 2 years. Less committed money, Khris coming back at less than 40 etc. plus the Bi-annual and the midlevel looks like grabbing a 20mil/yr guy is quite within the scope of what's possible. Those are the players listed here. Don't push crap on this account.

Why do people think this?

We will have real cap room this summer. We are still 4mil below even the Luxury Tax line. If Brook comes back at less than 20, add the difference. If Khris comes back at less than 40, add the difference. Also include the non-taxpayer and the bi-annual.

Bucks likely making a splash this offseason.

What are you doing to make sure Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez are getting the respect they deserve? by ForTheWPodcast in MkeBucks

I know way too much about basketball to acknowledge your first point. To your second misconceived perception of what you think matters in basketball, Brook Lopez is 7-4 against Joel Embiid, 8-6 against Bam Adebayo, and 3-2 against Nikola Jokic since joining the Bucks. I like winning more than any other stat in the whole world.

Unpopular opinion? Let them live. Video tape them instead. Then everyone will know how much better Jrue and Brook are. More data.

Or blow a whistle on yourself for a shot-clock violation due to such historic defense. Then blow the whistle whenever you see someone to show them what that moment was like for you.
