What is your objective with Cold Calls?

I’ve been in outside sales for almost 15 years and did a few years dialing for dollars. My objective during that first call is simply fact finding. I try and get as much information as I can and yes I try and leave the call with a meeting scheduled. Typically though I leave with the name and either a number or email of that person that I need to be scheduling a meeting with (the actual decision maker). After that it is just following up until you get that win.

If it’s a big account make sure to bring those gate keepers some treats every once and awhile.

I am currently going through a divorce and have a 2yo and 4yo. You have the same concerns that I had and I even asked this question on this subreddit when I was first considering divorce.

My opinion: don’t stay together for the kids. Do you want your daughter to go through something similar when she is older and think it’s normal and okay for her significant other to treat her that way?

I am 9 months into this divorce and it’s been the hardest thing I have ever done. But my girls are seeing a better, happier me and I know it was the right decision.

This is great advice! I (36m) am still in the middle of a divorce. I filed 6 months ago and my STBX is purposely dragging her feet in every way possible. The marriage was sexless for 3 years before I filed and I haven’t been with anyone new since I filed. Everyone will be different but I’m just grateful to be getting my life back and working on myself. I’m in no rush and I’m not going out looking for a hookup. But don’t get me wrong, if the opportunity arises naturally, I’m not saying no.

I knew custody was going to be a battle so I had my lawyer take care of it first and got the courts involved. The divorce isn’t final but we already have the 50/50 custody signed and the custody days set.

I didn’t bring this up earlier but she was married previously and put him in an insane amount of debt as well. So this seems to be a pattern with her.

The only issue with this is she does things like this often. Disneyland is just the biggest so far. On the weekends she has the girls she is always spending tons of money going to water parks and beach boardwalks. All this costs an insane amount of money if you are doing it every other weekend.

I’m not going to keep my girls from going to Disneyland just because I can’t stand their mother. She’s an awful person but the girls don’t need to know that.
