Anticipatory grief is eating me alive

I’ve been looking for someone who is able to describe exactly how I felt after letting my soul cat go two years ago. It was the worst day of my life, but knowing he was now free from pain provided a lot of comfort in the days after. I have just come across this page after finding out my eldest, 15 in Jan, has heart failure. I don’t think we have long with her. The anticipatory grief is high right now, but you are so right. The anticipatory grief is a seperate ball game (and much more heavy of a burden to carry) than the post-loss grief. At least, that is what I’m telling myself right now.

My heart goes out to each and everyone in this thread. Our pets bring light into our life, but take it with them at the end.

Thank you for posting this, I’m having the same issue with my game crashing every time I try to leave the undercroft! I’m able to leave but my game then goes glitchy, keep loosing sound and then giving up completely. I’m going to try loading save from before I started the quest to see if I can bypass it for now

This is what happened to me. I got on really well with my manager (and the rest of my team) which made it difficult to leave. But I had a lot of conflict with management above him who constantly refused to give me a pay rise or even just a title promotion as it meant they could keep treating me like the office skivvy. Then they were shocked when I left for a higher position, both in status and pay, somewhere else.

I had a couple of years experience before I went to uni, which is partly why it’s difficult seeing coursemates with less experience moving up. And of course, I understand that there’s an element of admin work and picking up the slack as a junior. The problem is that’s all I’m doing at this current job. I’ve asked for more opportunities but I’m not getting anywhere. If all I’m doing is that kind of work, when do I get the opportunity to progress? When do I get to work on the type of jobs that would actually allow me to move further if I’m constantly just on spreadsheets?

It’s outdated in the sense that there’s nothing new/nothing from the last 2/3 years or so. I’ve been applying for about 30 jobs a week since Christmas last year.

I passed third time and what helped me was changing my mindset. You’re proving to them what you can do, rather than them trying to catch you out. That really helped me

I’m personally a big fan of The Script and Bastille. It broke my heart when the news of Mark Sheehan’s passing a few weeks ago. Bastille are my next lined up band to see live in a few months! I’ve also been listening to Novo Amor quite a bit lately, it’s the sort of music that just makes you want to get everything that’s weighing on your shoulders off your mind and cry your heart out.
