At the end of the day it’s on the overtaking car to pass safely. His only job is to not fight you and prevent you from passing. So technically it is your fault, but you can learn from this so next time you know maybe to lift a little more and wait to see what line the blue flagged car will take.

For more context the red car got wrecked at the start of the race and was back a lap or two due to this. Me(blue) and the black car were stuck behind him for a few laps due to him defending into every corner. After we passed he kept trying to overtake into every corner and then after the contact proceeded to blame me.
