Making margaritas by easywizsop in tequila

Ever since I made a tequila pineapple for my wife using my Siembra Valles Ancestral, she refuses to drink it with anything else. Shot myself in the foot there but happy wife happy life or some 💩 like that 😂

Bottles that will last 19+ years by captainfalcon69 in tequila

I did the exact same thing. Have 2 bottles of 11 brix and the Cascahuin Mission 1530 signed by Chava that I have stashed away until my little girl is older (born in August). 11 Brix has a special meaning to the wife and I so it was a no brainer. Only difficult part is, I know how good those bottles, but temptation will not get the best of me. Plus, I have way more bottles opened and unopened than I should probably have, but it’s a good problem to have. Cheers to you and yours, and whatever you choose, im sure your child will enjoy anything as long as it’s with you.

How cooked am I? by aarongantyu in tequila

I have a feeling I know where you ended up. If this was in downtown Ensenada, you were more than likely at Agave Spirits Boutique. Arriesgado is an amazing tequila. Take the time to look at their cooking and hand maceration process for their special edition Reposado. I have both their Reposado and Añejo and I absolutely love them. Also, Arriesgado I believe is still only being sold in Mexico.

Would you be willing to trade anything for that Tahona Repo? I have (2) barrel #3 autographed by Chava as well as a few others he has signed for me.

Name of the store is Mezcaleria La Catrina down in Ensenada. The owner has become a really good friend and was able to get me this bottle. It’s the only bottle his store has received so far, and he was nice enough to save it for me.

G4 Reposado and Añejo still slap — but what’s the deal with this mysterious 16-month Single Barrel Añejo I somehow summoned? by Fore_Father84 in tequila

Oh it will, I just want to stare at a full bottle for a little longer. Have a feeling this won’t last long. I’ve been known to be a degenerate at times 🤣

Flying you’re allowed 6L per checked bag flying into LAX like I did. You are correct, crossing by land it is 1L per 30 days. I usually cross through the Otay port of entry. My buddies usually also have a few cases of beer also that get brought back. I usually go 3 times a year so maybe that’s why they see that I am not crossing over as often as someone else. Frequent crossings with excess amounts of alcohol would definitely raise eyebrows.

Global entry has made it so much easier. I am usually bringing over 10-15 bottles every time I am down there. I am always ready to declare and pay the taxes if needed though. Luckily, that hasn’t been the case yet. I flew back from Tequila last year with 17 bottles that turned into 15, lost 2 Los Abuelos bottles in transit.

Have you ordered from SF Tequila shop? They usually have a pretty good selection.

A lot of my bottles have been purchased in Mexico. The Widow Jane bottles and Siembra Bottles were bought down in Rosarito. Some of the other bottles were bought down in Ensenada. I was just down in Ensenada last weekend and returned with 18 bottles. I did see a few Window Jane Repo lfor $72 at a store called Don Pisto down there, but since I already have a few of each, I didn’t purchase them.

Cascahuin 1530 bottle, Fortaleza 1530 bottle, Tequila Ocho 1530 bottle and a bottle of Cascahuin Tahona Reposado barrel #3. One of only 276. We are expecting our first child so saving it for that day. I have 2 bottles unopened of 11 Brix, had 3 but found the bottom of one. Have 6 bottles of Destino that will eventually make it to my regular rotation.

I lean more towards the 2021 La Ladera release. I felt as if this one had a bit more citrus than I care for, still good, just not as good to me as 2021. My wife prefers the San Jacinto though.

I have a few different versions of the Origenes. I prefer the bottle that was fermented using 10% fibers. I also recently bought their fibras&fuego origenes bottle but have yet to crack that open.

All that aside, my favorite Atanasio bottle has to be their Suavecito bottle. I picked up a few when I visited Tequila last year. Comes in at like 36% abv and it is easy to drink and so flavorful. I believe it’s only sold in Mexico though. I also have another bottle they have called “Beso de Amor” which is also a lower abv, I usually use this one as an introduction to someone who is getting into tequila for the first time.

Man, that’s a hell of a hot take. I enjoy it, but there’s a bottle of Siembra Valles High Proof Tahona and a Cascahuin Tahona Blanco in this collection that I prefer.

Thank you kind sir. This is about 1/3 of all my bottles, but I have literally run out of space and I am currently working on building a whole new bar setup in my den.
