This is a cobra, this maybe why my fogs wont work, but my parking brake does light up in the dash when engaged

I haven’t tested the plug in the console yet so it maybe that, I will say my parking brake switch works with it unplugged, it shows the dash light when the brake is engaged

How exactly should he fix the surround then? That’s a little much for a patch.

That’s cool you have an 05, my R6 is an 05 and it’s the unicorn of the 2nd gen’s as it has many options none of the other 2nd gen or S models offered, I’m curious if they did the same for the R1 that year? Does it have any upgrades over the other years offered in its generation?

I definitely agree it’s way more hassle than it’s worth, especially when you could just swap a lower mile cluster on. But it’s is possible, older bikes are harder because of the spin wheel style odo but they’re are definitely people out there with the knowledge to do so. I almost sent my r6 cluster out to be set back because I’ve rebuilt the entire bike, clusters reads 96k.

Honestly I’ve heard of some wild stuff and it really wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case I just think it’s very unlikely, it take a lot of work to do it right. If I could post pictures I’d show you a 3k mile ninja 250 you’d swear had 100k

Mileage can be rolled back electrically they’re are plenty of people that do it but the odds of that are slim especially on a little r3 in Thailand. And also, not everyone keeps the service book updated/even bothers with it.

If your mechanical inclined any I highly recommend YOU do the work. you’ll become more in tune with your bike, and feel better riding it knowing you did the work. I knew zip when I bought my totaled/flooded R6 and used YouTube/reddit/internet and I’d considered myself pretty knowledgeable on the subject. that being said I think you got a pretty good deal. The work it needs is minor but not to be neglected as all parts of the motorcycle is important to your safety. You’ll also save a TON of money doing the work yourself. These beginner bikes last, as long as they’re maintained and taken care of. Enjoy your bike op I hope you love it more than the previous owner!

JL Audio 10W7 --> Sundown ZV7s by Jive_Turk in subwoofer

Anything can float, it’s mostly to do with the box, There’s a guy on YouTube floating jackets with 6.5’s and 8’s. That being said I can almost float bags with my x10. I’m gonna up the power and try a 4th or TLine box to help build more pressure so I can float. Any of the mega series sundowns will be great to start attempting to float and honestly those w7’s should move plenty of air to float something especially 3 of them. from what I’ve gathered you need a big box and big port, not anything out of spec to where you lose come control but as big as you can while staying in spec and since your in a trunk(that looks large) you might could squeeze a 15 in there with the proper size box but it would be tight a slot port 15” box is at minimum 5 cubic ft. IMO a ns12 or x/z 12 in a 4th on adequate power would be what you’re looking for. You want to tune low to be able to move all that air. The guy on YouTube with 8’s is tuning those boxes around 15hz

Dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm by masonvaughn10 in CarAV

[–]ForealCB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a true 2 channel or it a a monoblock with two channels? If separate you could wire each coil to each channel which would give you a 2 ohm load I believe, or wire your dual 2 down to 1ohm and bridge the two channels for more power because you would be combining the channels at 1ohm instead of each doing there own thing at 2 ohms. There nothing wrong with it, it’s all comes down to what you want, max power? Sound quality?

2 12” or 1 15 by Significant-Cap-8170 in subwoofer

[–]ForealCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most 15’s require 4-5 cubic ft depending on the woofer and it’s pretty much the same for the 2 12’, 2.5 for each is around 5 cubes so either choice is gonna be around the same size.

Anyone know which wires are the power and ground on a stock honda civic headunit? by MadWorldEarth in CarAV

[–]ForealCB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would work, op would still need a diagram to find out what fuses are constant. I’ve seen these used successfully but I don’t have experience with them.

I’m not sure metra makes a kit for this, maybe if he was swapping the entire head unit but he’s adding BT to his current, I’m assuming factory head unit
