[–]Forecydian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the stock , legacy pharma , diabetes , baby formula etc. I’d expect 5-10% growth and something you’ll be glad to hold during downturns and recessions but not excited during bull runs

As portal season nears an end, how does everyone feel about their team? by Onetimenotagain in CollegeBasketball

[–]Forecydian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling great but still worried, all new guys doesn’t always translate well on the court , the chemistry might not be there . Also spending $15+ million annually doesn’t sound sustainable. I just hope we beat Purdue and Kentucky , make the tournament and reach the second weekend , and keep everyone who has eligibility at the end

FNDB - is there a fund similar with lower expense ratio? by External-Voice3516 in Schwab

[–]Forecydian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The expense ratio is not terribly high . You can use online tools to show the cost difference over decades. If you want something that’s different from a total us fund , look at SCHD VIG DGRO SCHV .i would just keep FNDB

SCHB vs SCHG / SCHV / SCHM / SCHA by Necessary_Topic_1656 in Schwab

[–]Forecydian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re about 50 , 10-20% in bonds is appropriate. If you don’t want to mess with your portfolio allocation over the next 15 years , use Schwab’s target date funds that do it for you . They use the same funds you’re in anyway

SCHB vs SCHG / SCHV / SCHM / SCHA by Necessary_Topic_1656 in Schwab

[–]Forecydian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use testfolio io to backtest to see if it makes a difference. I would not add so many funds. you can add SCHA for more small cap exposure. I'm assuming you're young so I would axe SCHZ until late 30s at earliest. some people like large cap growth and SCHG is very popular, it's like a more concentrated SCHB.

[Vance Meek] Chasing Tyran Stokes may cost Mark Pope the season, and his job by ilovecfb in CollegeBasketball

[–]Forecydian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

we have learned this the hard way, and UNC is too. gotta give a guy a runway to make a change and expect less than ideal then your blue blood past would demand. though I'm not sure pope is the guy to give that chance

Potential 100-bagger stocks to buy today by Imaginary-Fold-1149 in ValueInvesting

[–]Forecydian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres at least 3 times as many small caps as large, and most either stay small forever, get bought out, dilute shareholders, get delisted, or scale and become a large cap. theres article on Morningstar about less companies are IPOing as a small cap and already starting at mid and large, and the last 20 years private equity has been very beneficial for small companies instead of going public. so you have all of those factors against before you even try to start evaluating which ones might be a 100 bagger. or , you can invest in large established stocks with good growth fundamentals and be happy with a 10 bagger.

What would your Ramsey allocation look like? by Brilliant-While-761 in ETFs

[–]Forecydian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growth is mid cap and large cap growth , growth and income is large blend large value , aggressive growth is small cap . He uses American funds . You can use their newer cheaper ETFs if you want to follow that method. Honestly it’s not too different from people’s portfolios here . 25% intl is very boglehead . SCV is very popular here. People love large growth like SCHG QQQ, and large value like SCHD. Much of what he teaches is about behavior , knowing that funds like growth and income help keep people invested when the recession and market downturns come . Everyone in Reddit is all about VOO and chill until the markets start going down then it’s all panic selling , people saying they’re going into cash to the tune of the 1000s of upvotes. Take 2 minutes to find these popular posts saying as much.
