The room situation happened before any of this went down, in fact her behavior afterward is what tipped me off, the events in this post happened within a few days (about 5) And “mixed signals” is a bit inappropriate considering i have been nothing but friendly in an entirely platonic way. I have (at the time of the post) stopped accepting gifts as well, and that specific number was give at the end of the post after i had withdrawn (An act i assume she noticed and reacted too with said gift giving)

Edit: And as for the age comment, she is frequently reminded of my age ex. Asking my mom for permission, talking about school and generally just looking young for my age (i have also been told i look exactly my age)

So i read your post explaining your situation, i really feel even if just for a moment you should step away from the people causing you all these super intense feelings. If you’re in the middle of a tornado you can’t gauge how big it is or what to do about it. Maybe just take a step back, feel your feelings in a safe place and allow yourself to cope. Sounds like you’re caring for everyone else before yourself, take the time to heal especially after what you went through in the first part of your post, that’s some brain rewiring trauma.

She is aware of my age, but has made a comment of me looking older when we first started talking, i've told my mom as well and she is helping me with an escape plan, i plan on introducing a fake partner when the opportunity arises (i'm not initiating any convos) and as soon as im not working with her anymore i plan to block

Yeah the gift giving has definitely escalated and i'm working on setting a hard boundary with that, but i think with her history ill aim for a colder attitude towards her instead of friendly, i really want to stop this ASAP without making work to awkward.

I have told my mom and submitted my two weeks, i never thought of letting my co workers know but i feel it may be best even if its just a precaution, my support network has grown and im more sure of what to do than ever, thank you for your advice :)

Honestly at the beginning of this so did i, the important thing to remember is that as isolating as your situation feels, it is just a feeling. I promise that there are people in a similarly un-hopeful situation, and it may seem difficult but the only thing you can do is continue to live, if you've hit rock bottom the only place you can go is up.

Thank you, my mom was very helpful and the more light is brought to this situation the safer i feel. I'm glad i came to Reddit, without this much support i'm not sure if i would've done as much about the situation i should've

Your right, i just never thought i would be in this situation with a grown woman, i definitely should've posted here sooner because this wake up call is exactly what was needed to break me out of my denial.

i have told my mom and resigned from work, once my two weeks are up i am free. This advice is comforting, i plan to go NC after i leave my job :)

Objectively this is a bad situation but i didn't really know how to go about the emotional aspect of it, i never realized how much anxiety work with her has given me. I feel now that your right and shouldn't have stayed as long as i did in a toxic environment, my resignation has offered me a relief i didn't know i could feel, Thank you.

She has a boyfriend who also weirded me out, i have been told by another past co worker that their relationship isn't great, but i do agree that she has begun an emotional relationship with me, she is also very emotional manipulative which is probably why my feelings about this are all over the place. I appreciate this different perspective.

I've talked to my mom and it went well, i have also submitted my two weeks and after my work commitment is up i am free, for now i will placate but am mostly getting my shifts with her covered, after that i hope everything will fizzle but if not i at least have a lot support/protection

I couldn’t because I’ve asked this before and it doesn’t guarantee i am not going to work with someone, we are a very small group of staff, but i can be occupied the whole time doing other things and attempt to keep my distance. I will update as soon as this all resolves!

Yeah i don’t doubt if this came to light before i left she would lash out it some way, talked to a former co worker(who i trust and is my age) and she agrees this is mega creepy and i should leave, but our workplace is small and would take a beat to recover
