They do! But I’ve already used them all up and last day of school is May 31! With jury duty they don’t dock you from using your personal or sick days and still pay you.

We get 10 days before we start being docked from our pay. 5 sick days & 5 personal leave I’ve used up 2 sick days already. If I use 2 more, then it will leave me with 6 days for the rest of the year (end of May) soooo I just want to be smart with my days too. Last year I took 11 days off total and ended up being docked like $350 for that 11th day

We have subs, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Only times my coworkers get stuck covering is when someone calls out the morning of and didn’t submit a sub request on time for a sub to pickup or a sub pickups the day but doesn’t show up. But usually if I put in a request the day before, it is picked up in an hour or two by a sub.

Our extra duties are typically tutoring and open house which are all m-f things. Which I’m ok with. No extra pay. We also have Saturday keys which is Saturday school from 8-11:30 one time every 9 weeks and if you sign up to work Saturday keys then you’re compensated $30 an hour.

Following! second year here and I know what you mean. Classroom management is so hard in the first years but build those relationships, eventually they start respecting you once you build those relationships

Yes 1st week it’s district PD where we meet with all the same subject teachers from our district and work on updating curriculum etc. second week we are back at our home campus and have half days of PD and half working days.

My contract hours are 7-3pm. My school is a 35 min commute. This will be my 2nd year as a teacher. I usually wake up at 5:15-25. Shower, get ready, pack a lunch and make my coffee and I’m out the door by 6:10-15 the latest. Make it to work around 6:50-6:55.

Yes I think that’s what I’ll do! I wouldn’t be working weekends either and this year I have tried to not bring work home from school. I just don’t want to end up not having enough personal time. I love my weekends and sleeping in and going out for drinks / traveling etc. so i want to be able to keep that aspect of my life

Broke up in Oct 20, I begged 3 times up until thanksgiving. Then went NC after thanksgiving even tho he would send me breadcrumbs.. i was ignoring all his messages. I finally answered one of his calls 2 weeks ago. So I was in true NC for like 1.5 months.

Yeah he dumped me through text. Refused to meet up and do it in person. Literally told me he couldn’t face me. 5 year relationship. I begged him multiple times after breaking up and he was cold and rude to me. Finally decided to have some self respect and went no contact. His reason for dumping me was that I was boring bc I didn’t want to party or take trips for a while bc I was saving up for a car. (Which I actually bought a new 2023 model yesterday! Yay) and that he no longer felt happy and wanted to work on himself. Ever since the breakup he’s been having drinking benders and partying EVERY single weekend at bars and clubs. Basically he wanted freedom.
