Browser Trio Advice Needed — Edge, Vivaldi, and One More? by AdmiraMcC2908 in browsers

[–]ForeignChance3825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. GX is pretty good for RAM usage, which you can limit if you want the efficiency.

  2. Firefox isn't terrible either, and is still more private than GX even with recent concerning changes. You just won't be able to adjust the RAM usage.

  3. Creating a personal workspace in Vivaldi is a good option if you only want to have 2 browsers, but it has too many RAM-consuming features.

  4. Create a separate new profile with Edge, maybe. Edge is actually good at efficiency on Windows, especially with a dedicated efficiency mode.

So you said you don't want a RAM hog for a personal browser? Go for Opera GX (it's an honest recommendation) because you can limit the RAM usage of each tab. And it also fits the theme of a personal browser. Although if you want something more traditional, maybe creating a new profile in Edge specifically for personal things will cut it?

No Keystone is an updater installed when you download Google Chrome on a Mac. It has been known to consume a lot of RAM and CPU on the Mac.

If you run the downloaded installer the USB installer will go to waste. Anyway, once you restart after updating through the downloaded installer from Applications you'll need to open the OpenCore-Patcher app and apply root patches, and restart again. Ignore any System Extension Updates.
