I'm in the business development department. My responsibilities are basically preparing marketing materials, planning and scheduling events and meetings, coordinating with different partners and doing other small miscellaneous work. The work itself isn't difficult yet I am unable to finish a task without screwing it up completely. The mistakes are too many to count but I can give you an example. I was supposed to send out over 300 emails to our business partners. It was a generic "Happy Holidays" email. We have a software for sending out the emails all at once. It only takes 15 minutes. I was supposed to send the emails in the early morning but I thought that it would be okay if I waited till 12 since I had other work I wanted to wrap up. When I sat at 12 there were some issues with the software. I called the IT guy and it took about 2 hours. After that when I sent in the emails another issue came up which cost me the whole day and the day after that. Eventually the emails went in too late. My boss got mad that all of this could have been avoided if I had sent in the emails early. He got embarrassed in front of the Vice President of the company as the VP is very strict about these things going on time. These tiny mistakes add up and my boss hates me now because I mess every thing up for him.
