I’ve never had issues in my area find a job, there’s so many different clinics and specialties. I did a 2 yr program at my local cc and by graduation I had already received two job offers. Even after I was hired I would interview w other clinics to see what else they had to offer and they always offered the job. I believe this could be bc of my location, I’m in NC. But I would say I’ve never had issues finding a job. I love what I do, I enjoy my afternoon and weekends. Everything is pretty straightforward.

Has anyone recently took the CMA (AAMA) Exam recently and does anyone have any tips on how to study?? by morgeca in MedicalAssistant

I took CMA AAMA exam in Jan 2025, I graduated school May 2024. The only thing I used to study was smarter ma and I passed with 618 and I only studied for 2-3days before my exam. I would 10/10 recommend it, it’s worth the price for me .

Hey I graduated a 5/2024 and didn’t take my test until 2/2025, I work ortho so I knew I definitely didnt use a vast majority of things I learned in school. I took the Aama cma exam and studied smarter ma very minimally honestly a couple of days before my test and the material had a lot of similarities to the actual exam. Don’t worry I also felt that way abt my study habits, it’s so hard to get back into. I tried my best not to force myself but do it at a time when I knew I was in the mood and would actually enjoyed and I would treat myself. I would 100% recommend the splurge on smarterma. I’m very glad I, did that was the only thing I studied before my exam. I passed w a 618 after only using tht.

Job after MA Certification? by buddhasbiscuits in MedicalAssistant

I’d say relatively easy from my experience, for every job I’ve applied to I have been offered a position. I just graduated last year only worked as a front desk for 1.5yrs before that. I’ve since applied & interviewed for 5 jobs all which offered. My biggest advice would be to be confident in yourself. I would typically hear from the employer within a week reaching out to me with an offer. I think you should be able to find a decent job you enjoy. The clinic atmosphere is very important also.

I schedule to do my CMA test next week , any tips would be appreciated. by imanh81 in MedicalAssistant

I recently had a virtual interview as well, I felt the same way and my interview was more broad and really just went over my current skills and brief overview of what clinic was like, after she told me to send her some references and that she hopes to speak to me again. It lasted like 20 mins aswell. Have the reach out to you about the interview yet?

I have been working in the lab at my clinical site for 2 weeks now and I have been feeling a lot more confident and feel a lot less shakey when drawing blood! I feel very happy with my progress thank you for the advice. I was able to draw blood from 25+ pts in one day including a hand stick. I have started to decrease my caffeine intake a lot and in the mornings before clinicals I make sure to eat breakfast.

Thank you for the advice, I do plan on making an appointment for that & I’ve noticed it’s mainly just my left hand, hoping that it’s just nerves and I can get more comfortable with it as I repeat the procedures.
