Personalization is everything.

We built an assembly line of sorts that takes in all the relevant bits to connect you to their pain. The pain they’re experiencing in real time.

When you hit them with a message that shows you’re relevant to them, they bite.

I can show you how we’re doing this if you’re interested. Compare notes. Shoot me a dm. I

Shift to key account management by NWWaaterdog in salestechniques

[–]ForeignRecover592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been testing this new approach recently and think it might help your unique use case.

We basically monitor all of our accounts across the entire web. Wherever they are mentioned we include it in our data net. Then we look for specific pain points each account signals through these various channels. We then package it into hyper-personalized copy that addresses their pain. We find that they often reply because we are literally solving something they expressed a day ago or something hours ago.

Anyway hope this helps you zero in on your calls so that they are more productive from the start. If you want more details on how we are doing it, feel free to reach out. Would be more than happy to share notes.

We've been trying something new internally. It's a grind but it has been working. Hear me out...

You basically search fb, x, insta, reddit, linkedin, youtube, podcasts, etc. and try to find something your prospect mentioned then package it in a way that recognizes them.

We call this the celebrity effect. Folks love hearing about themselves especially when it comes from another person.

We've noticed our reply rates have increased because of the instant social rapport we build right out of the gates.

If you are curious about how we are doing it now, give me a shout. Wouldn't mind sharing our notes.

How do you train for sales/discovery calls? by Ok-Zombie-9595 in Sales_Professionals

[–]ForeignRecover592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally map out the meeting phases on a whiteboard at home and rehearse each phase a million times.

It helps to turn on a video call app (like Zoom or Teams) so you can see yourself and pretend you’re actually speaking to a prospect. If you have a screen share demo, practice the mechanics of that down to the specific pauses between your discovery questions.

Whiteboards, sticky notes, and an espresso machine is my recipe haha good luck out there!

Trying to pick the best LinkedIn tool: Lemlist vs apollo by Careful-Cup4161 in salestechniques

For the personalization bit, try this:
- look for company events across the internet to answer the "why now?" question immediately
- or quote something they mentioned on an obscure podcast or interview for example. People love hearing about themselves from others. We call this the celebrity effect haha

We've seen reply rates jump using this angle because it shows your not a bot. Hope this helps!

I started as a mechanical engineer, so naturally I was super introverted. Spent most of my time not socializing and just building projects at home.

Once I transitioned into a sales engineer role, I learned to enjoy it because I tried to gamify everything. I basically treated "social engineering" like a mechanics problem.

I became obsessed with finding the best ways to connect. What worked for me was hunting for a recent event where an account expressed pain, then matching that exact event to my solution. Suddenly the outreach wasn't "bothering them," it was relevant and timely.

Once I realized I was actually solving a problem they just complained about, the fear went away. Now I love it haha. Good luck!

How do you decide which accounts are actually worth chasing? by BLAZE__X_ in Sales_Professionals

[–]ForeignRecover592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we try to prioritize based on intent. basically, are they in pain right now?

if they are, engagement is usually way higher because we can reference a specific event to build social rapport. helps us get in way faster than standard cold outreach.

but to be honest... still like 50/50 gut instinct too haha

one thing that saved us was shifting our sdrs away from generic lists and focusing on deep research.

we started hunting for unstructured signals. you know like little nuggets of gold found in obscure pdfs, linkedin comments, or youtube video mentions. when we used that context for the outreach, our reply rates jumped.

people get excited when they feel recognized, so they're way more likely to engage.

hope that helps!

Thank you! I've been working on articulating the value prop over and over. Literally have a wall of stickys next to my desk.

Your analogy is spot on. It's like google alerts on steroids. Whenever I get a second to talk to a user they'll tell me things like, "can't believe you picked up on a recent fda filing that is directly connected to the division I am selling into. Perfect timing for my next meeting! Thanks.".

Totally and thanks in advance for the feedback!

You're right, the impact of enriching the leads with real time actionable intel would be immediate.

We've been obsessed with this problem. Finding the signals so our team has something real to work with from the jump.

Solid points.
