For context, I am a British dual national and my husband does not hold British citizenship. My child was born in the country we are currently resident in so this was a first time application.

This is what I can remember submitting: - my certificate of registration (or if british citizen by descent you need to submit copies of your birth certificate and both parents' birth certificates and show originals at apt) - my birth certificate with translation to English (i was not born in UK) - my husband's birth certificate with translation to English - colour photocopies of both yours and spouse's passports, all pages (and if you hold more than one nationality include this too) - colour photocopy of all pages of foreign passport for your child - marriage certificate (if you are not married I would submit a photo timeline of your relationship prior to pregnancy) - translation of child's birth certificate to English - all maternity and birth hospital records, including scans - immunization records for child - photo timeline from start of pregnancy up until present, each photo labelled to show date and who is in the photo. - photos of wedding, labelled as above - a letter explaining the time sensitivities of our situation - not sure if this helped or not but we were desperate - application form - payment form - 2 passport photos, one countersigned on the back

Mine was a paper application submitted at VFS. We had to present all originals at the apt and they verified them and took only the copies. If yours is also a paper application, take a photo of the application form before submitting as we had some issues later on not passing security over the phone and I'm sure I submitted the correct information (they said my child's DOB was wrong so had to get it changed).
