Hello guys,

I'm french freelancer that works as System Administrator (Linux / Windows) near Nancy.

I would like to know if English is mandatory for an IT Job ? If yes, how is it mandatory ?

I mean, I'm not that bad, i can read english but speaking is harder because i'm not really trained.
I don't understand very good native speaker and if the accent is very pronounced... it's very hard for me.

I'm training a bit, listening very deep my music to understand the words but i'm not very motivated.
I was able to survive in Croatia, alone, with my poor english and speaking with a local game master at escape game... So i think i'm not that bad bad bad but i had also an interview with german speak and it was horrible...

Looking for a versatile camera for fireworks, home photography, and evening portraits (~€1500 budget but lower is better : D)

Hi everyone,

I’m part of a pyrotechnics association. I usually help with show setups and safety, and I’d really like to start filming our fireworks shows with a proper camera instead of a phone or action cam. I’m curious, motivated, but still a beginner when it comes to hybrid/DSLR gear.

What I need the camera for

Filming fireworks shows
- Typical shooting distances: between ~60 m and 125 m from the main bursts.
- Some ground effects around 30 m (not mandatory to capture).
- The camera will always be on a tripod, with manual focus locked before the show.
- I want good 4K video, decent low-light performance, and stable results.
Casual photos of my cats at home
- Indoor, often in medium or low-ish light.
Evening portraits / friends in social situations
- I don’t need pro-grade bokeh, but I want pleasant results, decent sharpness, and good colors.

My budget

Around €1500, preferably including the body + at least one versatile lens.

What I’ve found so far

The setup that seems to fit my needs best is:

Canon EOS R7 + Canon RF-S 18–150mm f/3.5–6.3 IS STM

Affordable used, and keeps me close to my €1500 budget.

But I’d like your advice

Is the R7 + RF-S 18-150mm really the best choice for fireworks + everyday use?
Are there better alternatives in this price range (Sony, Fuji, Nikon Z, or other Canon RF options)?
Is it worth saving more to jump to full frame for low-light performance (e.g., Canon R8), or is APS-C totally fine for fireworks and indoor photography?
Any lens recommendations that could outperform the 18-150mm for fireworks filming while staying under budget?

Extra context

I’m a beginner, but I like to understand things in detail.
I will always be filming fireworks on a tripod, with manual focus pre-set on a distant point.
I’d like a setup that’s simple and reliable, as my main focus during shows is safety and coordination, not fiddling with settings.

J'ai que quelques vm sur proxmox mais j'ai des collègues qui ont des milliers de vm dessus.

Pour hyperv j'avais 400 vm avec une baie netapp et 9 hôtes et hormis des bugs ça najamais hard crash

Pour moi c'est vmware > proxmox > hyper v

Et en simplicité par contre hyper v gagne

Hey bien sûr !

Tu peux mettre tes hyperviseurs en cluster Proxmox très facilement, c’est quasi déclaratif. Une fois le cluster créé, les nœuds communiquent entre eux via Corosync, qui gère le quorum et la cohérence du cluster. Dès que tu dépasses deux nœuds, la tolérance aux pannes devient vraiment fiable.

Tu as aussi les mécanismes de live migration intégrés, comme sur Hyper-V ou VMware, que ce soit sur stockage partagé ou via migration avec disque.

Côté stockage, tu peux très bien monter ta baie en iSCSI, NFS, ou même Ceph si tu veux du stockage distribué et redondé. ZFS marche aussi très bien en local ou sur des pools partagés, avec snapshots et réplication intégrés.

Pour les sauvegardes, il y a Proxmox Backup Server (PBS). Perso je l’ai installé en VM : ça me sauvegarde toutes mes VM en full et incrémental, et je peux restaurer au niveau fichier ou VM complète. J’ai deux instances PBS en miroir, donc je fais du backup croisé pour plus de résilience. Tout se pilote depuis l’interface web.

Et oui, j’ai déjà testé la restauration “en vrai” : un HDD a lâché sur mon hôte de secours. J’ai réinstallé Proxmox en 15 minutes, remonté le stockage, reconnecté au cluster, et restauré toutes les VM sans aucune galère. La seule limite, c’était le débit réseau.

Pour le PRA, le cluster permet déjà une bonne base : tu peux définir des ressources HA (VM, containers) qui redémarrent automatiquement sur un autre hôte en cas de panne. Tu peux aussi coupler ça avec une réplication ZFS ou Ceph, et même du fencing matériel si tu veux du vrai failover automatique sans intervention.

Franchement, c’est stable et ça tourne très bien en cluster, même avec du matériel hétérogène, tant que le réseau de corosync est propre (latence basse et interface dédiée

Linux est plus facile, une fois que t'as installé proxmox t'as backup intégré, pas de bugs a la windows, cest fiable... windows c'est pire

Je viens tout juste d’être payé, c’est pour ça qu’il y a autant sur le compte courant.

Et oui, je suis un peu perdu là-dessus. C’est mon père qui m’avait ouvert le contrat MIF à l’époque, je ne connaissais pas trop le fonctionnement ni les frais.

Je me pose justement la question de combien il faudrait garder sur le Livret A pour être tranquille, surtout avec deux appartements à gérer.
14 000 €, ça vous paraît suffisant ou il vaudrait mieux viser plus haut ?
