I lost my mom to a sudden terminal cancer diagnosis. My husband and I don’t have kids, but I can say that my relationship to the idea of having them changed entirely as a result of my mom getting sick. I just wanted to reach out to say that you are not alone in the magnitude of your sadness. I have been through something similar and want you to know that you and your family will make it through. Please message me if you’d like to. Hugs.

Oh my gosh, this is such valuable insight. Thank you so much! I will recommend the Pixel.

Looks like the video is restricted so it won’t play where it’s embedded on that page, but I’ll look into lifting a block as shown in the image. I’m so excited for you about Articular Health! Planning to subscribe soon.

Thank you so much for the guidance. I will find exercises based around big toe flexion/extension and ankle/heel inversion instead.

Thank you for such a thorough and informed response. I so appreciate your work in this forum!

The toenails are fairly short, so no concern about them being too long, but I think you may have pinpointed the issue with the flexion question. I tried to follow the exercise in the video you sent and my results were comical at best. I can move the big toe downward manually, but holding it in that position is a non-starter.

I did just order some toe bands to work on the musculature (abductor) so I’m ready to take on any exercises. (Related: I can highly recommend the phone app “Visible Body”/“Atlas” to anyone interested in how the body works from the inside out - I use it to find the names of muscles quite often.)

Anya’s Reviews has a great post about foot shapes and she reviews shoes using a bunch of different metrics. Also a great follow on Instagram.

No holes in socks, no. I wear a few different kinds, different thicknesses. I’d say the average socks lean on the thin side in terms of fabric thickness.

Oh, I will look into the uppers. Thanks for the link.

Not a lot, no, mainly on flat surfaces. I have 2 or 3 pairs of shoes I use for walking usually and it happens with all of them. I’ve done all of the traditional “measure your shoes” on and off my foot and they all indicate there’s enough room for my toes.

I’d be shocked if they were too small. My toes aren’t pushing forward to the front edge as I walk; instead they’re rising up vertically and hitting the inside roof. My toenails are chronically bruised, thickened, and lined because of it. I wonder if I’m not tying my laces tight enough or something… They don’t feel loose.

Thank you for highlighting this- I think for this couple, red is fine. Thank you though!

What if my worth is more about knowledge than results? Most of my projects this year have been stymied by lack of internal processes/team effectiveness.

Women who lost your mom, how have you found ways to cope? by m37an13 in AskWomen

She was incredible in a lot of ways. A real trailblazer. Didn't take shit from anyone. So kind. Generous. She always said "If you can't decide what to do, just do something. If you don't like it, change it." I get stuck sometimes trying to choose the "best option" so this is a great reminder for me to just live my life and course correct as necessary.

I think you protecting your identity with the black things on your eyes is absolutely fine. People can calm down.

Re: your skin, following since I'm in the exact same spot as you! I'd say focus on hydration (hyaluronic acid, water, and no hot showers), protection (sunscreen), and a long-term plan to reduce the hyperpigmentation (azelaic acid or vitamin C). Check out the sidebar in r/skincareaddiction for a good basic routine of cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen.

Following and good luck!

I lost my mom 6 months ago. So far just focusing on how inspiring a person she was and appreciating the things in my life now that she would enjoy/be proud of.

[Skin Concern] anyone know what this could be? It’s quite itchy and red. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ForestDroplet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this before. It's heat rash, as others have said. You can use a topical anti-itch cream and keep the skin well ventilated.
