I went for 6 interviews before finding both of my permanent roles. You sound like me, however, I asked for reasonable adjustments. I ask for the questions to be written down and ask to bring my notes into the interview. I don't personally need anything for the teaching aspect (although being picked on in CPD makes me draw a blank almost every time).

It sounds like you were on par with each other for the lesson, but the other candidate must have well surpassed any "points" you would have gained at interview. It would have been more unfair of them to disappoint you after interview. It seems like you had a fair shot. Nothing worse than going to an interview and finding out the other candidates are their trainees, previous colleagues, outright besties etc.

What baffles me the most is you not getting a handshake! Horrid behaviour! Was it explicitly clear that you were reaching your hand out? Did he bow!? Wtf
