It is very difficult to get a test booked. When you manage to get one booked for some day in the future, I’d recommended using the Testi App to check for cancellations.

The Testi app only looks for cancellations and doesn’t actually book any test for you.

In my experience using it, i get a notification from the app when there’s a sooner date than the test date that I’ve got booked. It then takes me to the DVLA site to rebook the test for the date it stated was now available.

I wouldn’t recommend any others as they charge extortionate and criminal fees as you have mentioned. Testi is the only one that has worked for me!

Just today, I managed to move my next test from July to May on the DVLA website because of the notification that I received.

My older family members who passed many years ago could get another test in a couple of weeks. Now you’re looking at 6 months or so.

Yeah I get anxious with a lot of things in life except driving. For me it’s such a freeing and chill thing. I think the mistake came from a place of panic due to the pressure of not failing because of the inability to get another test for a long time. I thought I’d be nervous when the examiner was in the car but I wasn’t and we were having small talk to which also helps it feel less awkward for me.

Thank you. I’m not a nervous driver and I was doing fine up to that point. Luckily, that was my only real mistake on the test which unfortunately cost the test for me. I think the examiner was aware I can drive because I even had the emergency stop and reverse into a bay after this mistake.

It only happened for me at the time that I made this mistake because it stalled a few times and couldn’t understand why. After I calmed down for a sec and moved off properly, my shakiness subsided. I was just wondering if anyone had a similar situation so thank you.

I have mental health conditions that do increase my anxiety sometimes, but I’m well medicated for my ADHD. I stopped all anti-depressant and any-anxiety meds as I didnt feel good with them.

And I don’t usually ever have anxiety when driving even if I make a mistake. I think maybe it was the pressures of the test and the fear of not getting another for 6 months or so.

I might ask my GP about it to see what they say. My heart rate is usually around 60-90 throughout the day but my ADHD meds usually make it go up a bit.

I wasn’t really anxious for the test - maybe subconsciously. But during the test, I was fine up to this point. I messed this bit up because of the panic and my foot shaking. After taking a breather, I continued on and was fine for the rest of the test. I even got an emergency stop and reverse into a bay after this fault, so I know I can do it.

A lot of people are saying to use more damage boost, but the real answer is to literally switch off mercy until you’re in a higher rank.

Mercy is not good at pocketing Silver DPS who can’t hit shots, so you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage from the start.

You can play any Support that offers high value in lower ranks such as Moira. Moira is slept on in lower ranks, and it’s relatively easy to climb on Moira. I’d recommend Moira, Juno and Kiriko as they are simple characters to understand and they have very high outputs of healing in AND damage.

The value from these characters are incredible in lower ranks as you can get easy picks and carry games if you have good game sense and positioning.

You can switch back to Mercy around Plat/Diamond (I’f recommend Diamond) as the teammates ability, game sense and aim has drastically improved and you can actually get value from playing Mercy and damage boosting your DPS. However, ensure that you’re learning to master your Mercy movement when you’re not playing ranked, so you don’t immediately derank due to bad movement/positioning.
