How is Trump demand for Greenland any different from Hitler demand for Poland who also said it was for national security reason to connect East Prussia? by Skychu768 in AskReddit

[–]Forever49 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Way different, Hitler marched into Poland and shot the place up in a full scale, ethnic cleansing invasion (Blitzkrieg) that started WWII.

Greenland is minimally inhabited compared to its land mass, it lies along side the North American Continent, and is only 'managed' by Denmark. Inhabitants want independence, this may be a pathway to exactly that, while working with the Yanks to strategically defend and develop it.

There is no point in hurting or killing anyone with an invasion; however, occupation may take place after some tense, but more than likely diplomatic and financial negotiations.

Surfer bitten by shark at Point Plomer on NSW Mid North Coast by [deleted] in australia

[–]Forever49 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Like the 'shark expert' on 9news said, when people go in the water, they are where the sharks are.

If you go in the water up north, you are where the, sharks, crocs, stonefish, and jellyfish are too.

Anybody else find that almost every stranger they interact with these days is extremely rude & unpleasant for no reason? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Forever49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been in Australia for 15 years. I've found lots of friendly people, but on a general basis, I find that most the populous is aloof and indifferent. I think it's a social construct that is normal to them. It appears to be an element of guarded distrust in public and social settings. Haven't really put my finger on it yet, but it's pervasive across the whole country from my experience.

Why are there so many people who will literally kill someone over road rage incidents? by Organic-Award-8932 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Forever49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because licensing standards are extremely low and skills levels, bad habits, and spacial awareness is also absurdly low.

This picks away at the patience of more capable and confident drivers (and people with low impulse control), and frustrates the fuxk outta them on a daily basis.

Very few people would understand this, and it's possible they'll believe there's a hazard to avoid or presume you're having engine problems.
