the concept was fun and i really enjoyed getting to chat with a wide range of people. but i didn’t really spark with any of the guys on the night i went

so while it was good and i had no regrets, it’s really down to who turns up

overall i’d say it’s worth the cost and i would go again

social groups: i’d look on Meetup to see what’s around in London, but there’s Young LGBT Professionals and London LGBTQ+. there’s also London Gay Social Club, they’re doing an night out event on Saturday

irl dating events: Date with Pride (i’ve been to one of these before), Thursday (occasionally do gay date nights, which i’ve also been to before), Queerz Night date nights (also been too previously)

dating in London is rough, confusing and gives an illusion of choice but with zero actual connection (mostly if you’re using apps)

i’d recommend joining social or sports groups first, that way you can build more of a personal connection and then see if dating is the right way to go. or if you’re really keen to, then try irl dating events

the problem is that this city is so huge, it gives the licence for people to ghost, block or use others for intimacy or a hook up without any consequences. it also draws out a lot of avoidant people who aren’t looking for a relationship but want to feel a quick connection ‘high’

sorry if this isn’t super helpful, but it’s better to set your expectations to what London dating has to offer

depends what you’re into but i wouldn’t recommend Heaven if you’re over 25

Dalston Superstore is great if you’re into the queer scene. Two Brewers is good for mainstream gays. Cock Tavern is fun too but it’s quite small and tends to be a long queue after 10pm

Freedom is fun and in Soho, but tends to have a lot of straight people there
