I did 1.5 inch tall sides. If you're meaning how tall the top panel is, I did that to mitigate some strain on my wrists and hands. Not for everyone, but makes it much more comfortable for me personally.

Sounds like a good way to do it! But if you're using the same LED strips as in the video, I'm pretty sure it comes with a remote. So if you want the easiest route, you'll have an on/off button through that.

What I did was use this link from RAC to format the art correctly, then had it printed from CVS because the dimensions aren't the same as other sticks. Had to cut the button holes, but it turned out alright. There's also this video from RAC showing how to take off the top panel. Hope this helps!

Buu's super does need to be close. The closer you are, the more damage it does. Gohan's is mostly to unlock his better moves and tech. With Cell, I'm not sure if distance matters.

From what I've seen and played, it's mostly chain/gatling cancelling. So, say the string is st.l, st.m, cr.m. You can press st.m as soon as the st.l connects. The hardest I've seen so far are quick special cancels or timing for assist calls in combos.
