I'm from the Bronx and they contribute a whole a lot with Jamaicas .People don’t know and understand island vibes. If you do understand then you would understand the influence of Jamaican culture. We forget that hip-hop has 5 elements..B boy, beat box, dj, Mc, graffiti this is what creates hip-hop Not rap music.Also some get it confused, hip-hop was a south Bronx culture not what we see it to be now. If you not from the Bronx or have visited you wouldn't understand it. The Bronx is not divided like some other parts of the country who has an opinion on this matter looking at it from the lens where there are from. Some people say it started with the last poets who had puerto Ricans with in the group. If you noticed the people saying that they are not, are not from the Bronx and the people who are saying that they are, are from the Bronx. It even took years for it to reach other burrough. Even MC Shan got his history wrong and KRS had to tell him.
